Hey everyone, today's video is on Shane Gillis and why he did not participate in the Roast of Tom Brady during the Netflix is a Joke Comedy Festival. The roast included comedians Tony Hinchcliffe, Tom Segura, Bert Kreischer, Andrew Schulz, Nikki Glaser, Kevin Hart, and many more additional celebrities. A lot of people wished that Shane was on the Deis for the roast, and some people even asked Bill Burr if he would have done the roast given the opportunity to which he declined. Many people are also talking about Jeff Ross and his one joke that went too far. Shane expressed how he's very happy that he didn't do the roast especially after watching Kim Kardashian get booed onstage. A lot of people thought it would've been nice to see Shane get some extra exposure before his TV Show Tires premiered on Netflix May 23rd, but he doesn't like roasts and ultimately decided against it. Tom Brady got mad at Jeff Ross for that joke because they specifically told all the comedians to not make jokes about Robert Kraft or toms kids. Those were the only 2 things off limits for Tom. I know this because Andrew Shultz talked about it on his podcast. So it’s a bit different of a situation then what you’re thinking. It’s not like the comedians weren’t told to not make jokes about Robert Kraft or I’d actually agree with you.

Andrew Schultz is known for exaggerating. Jeff Ross said it was part of the writing so they could address it at least once. And considering he's an executive producer and so is Tom Brady, I'm sure that was their way of getting it out in the open so that none of the other comedians would bring it up multiple times.

Overall the roast was pretty solid, but I think Shane woulda been a great addition. I'm surprised he didn't wanna go up there just to make fun of some Patriots.

I never thought Bert krischer was that funny. He just annoys me. His shtick is very much like that guy in high school that goes to parties and is super loud and tries to take over every conversation and be the center of attention I don't think Tom Segura is funny either but he's much more tolerable than Bert. Their segment on the brady roast was by far the worst one the whole evening. Julian edlemen IMO stole the show .

I felt so weird and out of place, and all I could think of was how just four and five years earlier I was the one wondering why some dude in his 20's was at a high school party. Yeah appreciate the honesty. I can relate as a bulls fan I hated LeBron with a passion. Then in 2010 there were rumors him and d wade were thinking about coming to Chicago and was excited af, especially because Dwayne wade is from the area. Then he decided to go to Miami and I was mad as hell lol. Don’t mind him as much now and I realize he’s a great player, just not better than mj lol

He's from Steelers country, only recently he's Philly fan...Mechanicsburg is full of Steelers & Baltimore fans. Also, its reason why Shane never knows any areas of Philly when they talk about them on their pod ( except popular places like Fishtown, Kensington ,etc). Plus, Shane never been to any Philly game until moving there 7-8 years ago, which is unheard of by local born Philly fans

Tom and Bert were really bad. I'd expect that type of performance from one of the non comedians, like Gronk haha, not comedians who sell out arenas. I agree with you on the best being Tony, with Glaser being great and Schultz being pretty good. Heart was meh, would've liked Ross hosting over him. Oh, and fucking Affleck...Jesus. What the fuck was that. Ron Burgundy was pretty tedious and bad too. The runtime is what really fucked me up, 3 hours is just too long. I think I would've liked it much more if they cut a bunch of it and got it down to an hour and a half. Great vid, my dude.

i saw the roast , and there were a lot of regurgitated jokes from roasts of past, hinchcliff didnt write his own jokes nor did schults or nikki , the roast has gone so far away from what it was suppose to be, dean martin and don rickles must be rolling over in their graves

I think you got the top three roasters correct, but I agree with the majority that Nikki Glaser had the strongest set. But I was very impressed with Andrew Schultz, as I don’t find him as funny in his podcast has some people do. But I did think it was pretty solid. And I’ve never seen Tony hen Cliff perform. And I’ve never watched kill Tony because I’ve heard how cruel they are to the Open Mic comics. And giving someone is not really fair to anybody. But his set was very strong. I thought he was pretty good. I like Nikki Glaser said better, but everybody’s entitled to their opinion, at least you got the top three the same as I did. And yeah, Tom and Bert haven’t been funny for quite some time.

I agree with you on the three best of the Roast. Kreischer and Segura were embarrassing. Overall it was an okay show, but there was a lot of repeated jokes and perhaps it needed to be edited down or not have gone so long.

The last roast I watched was Bruce Willis. Comedy roast haven’t been my favorite since Hasslehoff. Trump’s was the worst and since then a lot of acts in roast have been hit or miss.

I was enjoying this until you said you skipped the Kim Kardashian and Ben Affleck parts. The comedy roast as a whole is part of the history and if you’re going to call yourself the comedy historian and then it’s due diligence for you to watch it in its entirety, despite your feelings about Ben and Kim, the roast as a whole is part of comedy history now I did watch it all and you didn’t miss anything but I’m not for claiming to be the comic historian I like what you put out but that nonplussed me

The roast was crap. It suffered from the ultimate sin in comedy, it wasn’t funny. The funniest guy in the entire roast was Julian Edelman and that should tell you all you need to know.

cus rogan sphere comedians aren't that funny, Shane is the outlier cus he hangs with them but are not from them. However he's decent at best. I don't see him having any good material for this.
