@@carlosandleon I can't defend the fact that they used to look the same, but that lasted only for a decade or two. Given the brand heritage & history, i think they don't want to drift far away from slow & steady evolution as only skilled eyes can tell the models apart.

I think the Brits r very good at extremes. What I mean by that is every British car has either had extreme performance or driving experience (Lotus, Mini I guess, McLaren) or extreme luxury (Aston Martin, Bentley, Rolls-Royce), never in between. With the Brits, there’s no such thing as compromise. Ur either extreme, or ur not worth it. I speak as an American where literally all that any American car enthusiast cares about is going as fast as possible in a straight line, and nothing else matters but that (except for the car’s ride height, apparently)

I mean, they kind of have 2. Ever since Ford bought out Aston, they’ve been using their designers for other cars, such as the Jaguar XJ (I think it’s the XJ). And once u take the beauty part of an Aston out of the equation, what’s left? Nothing, really. Aston needs 2 redefine their brand 2 focus on extreme performance cars and more luxurious grand tourers so they can continue 2 stay relevant. The Aston is a lovely design. But I can’t say I ‘like’ it more than the SF90. Its just different to my eyes. Not necessarily ‘better’. I think the SF90’s lines being so similar to the line of previous V8 Ferraris (458, 488, F8) makes people think it isn’t special. But the details of the SF90 separate it from the others fairly well to me.

I love that the Valhalla still looks like and Aston Martin. The grille, the side crease at the front wheels... Despite being mid engine it still looks like an Aston Martin. Something I missed with the Concept and the Valkyrie. They looked interesting and Sci-fi but not like and Aston Martin, the Valhalla looks like a Mid Engine Aston should look like. I'm waiting for the Vanquish though to make up my mind about their three mid engine cars though.

The concepts looked like something from the future that's right. They were proportioned, elegant and clean. They also built a new approach for Aston since the last decades really. A change they NEEDED. Now this? Is this a joke? Weird headlamps, a grille that's not traditional and not modern but rather a weird mess in between? Biggest let down of the last few years hands down. Still glad to see that some people seem to like this car. I really want to but I just can't

@@I_4R5 You are right . I commented like you in Top Cars TV channel's community post and didn't get a like . Then I deleted my comment . Because I thought I spread hate for Aston Martin ( maybe ) . But I have same thoughts , just like you . The Vanquish Concept was the merging line of New Gen Aston and Old Gen ones. But Valhalla was a surprise to be the one to do that first and it lacked a lot of features . Like the NASA spoiler in the back . But I will take the normal spoiler too . Then they aimed for Nurburgring, then I got angry . I mean no rich people buy Supercars for track push , right ? This is hilarious . They are making track cars and road cars which are made for track . I mean...come on . But I salute their effort . Thry are showing their bests and increasing competition . That will make supercars avilable for everybody at affordable price . And we will benifit .

Love the new Valhalla, a stunning return to form for Aston as I think their most recent cars have not, design wise quite captured the elegance and beauty of the preview generations DB9, DBS, Virage etc. One small correction, the DBS you showed was in fact the 2nd Aston to bear that name, the original being the William Towns designed car from the 60's, the intended replacement to the DB6 and the star of the 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' Bond film. Always loved the lines of the first two DBS's.

I think the front of the SF90 cribbed styling cues from some of their F1 cars from the 1970s... specifically one Niki Lauda drove come to mind. I think the SF90, Roma and 296GTB clearly indicate Ferrari is going through a retro phase at the moment. It's almost like they're lost at the current juncture of the car world - as everyone is making the leap to EVs - Ferrari doesn't seem to know where it wants to take itself or how to go about this necessary and critical transition so it's milking its own past hard to reaffirm its identity to itself. Hopefully, they'll figure out their place in our EV future sooner rather than later and the styling follows suit.

@@aldrichuyliong8143 I really like the Roma's and F8's styling, but not as much as the 296. The LaFerrari ticked a bunch of boxes, and I think they should have developed more off of that design, cause it was pretty good, and still looks fresh. I kinda hope that the first Ferrari EV will have like a Roma type of style, cause I think it's probably one of their best designs in recent years.

@@maxxedredlineproductions I think we're of one mind when it comes to Ferrari styling. The LaFerrari's forward thinking looks should have served a larger role as the company's design language north star. While I am smitten with the Roma's clean classic lines, I'm just worried the recent, larger, move to retro might be a sign of creative rut within Centro Stile.
@christopherbundoc1663
@christopherbundoc1663 2 жыл бұрын
@@aldrichuyliong8143 i guess centro stile is just harkening to the older times. The younger generation is not exposed to the vintage cars and history of ferrari and i think this is their way of leveraging towards the future which will either be ev or synthetic fuel. The design language is more fluid as compared to the aggressiveness of the previous lineup. Just hoped they did not went all in on digital interior tho.

6:45 That part right there (that's also on the MC20) wasn't inspired by anything from Polestar. If anything, Polestar, Aston and Maserati are all taking cues from the UFO like styling of experimental solar-powered cars from the last 20 years. In other words, they deliberately black out the lower portion because they want the car to literally look like a flying saucer hovering over the ground. I quite like it.

This car vahalla is not all about elegance, its a formula one inspired car. They have a target to beat nürburgring under 6min 30sec ,which will be a new record for production cars. So the lower side part design u were complaining about are essential aero bits for downforce, which is crucial for getting that time. So this is a car focused more on function while achieving form. Also with the tail pipes position is not for form, they are placed on top to avoid any disturbance in the diffuser area, so that diffuser can have clean air flow, and air intakes are on the roof not in the sides, to have clean less turbulent air, all formula 1 tech, so function over form

I think the main downside of the Ferrari in comparison with the Valhalla is that the Aston looks like a hypercar while the sf90 do not. The core design of the sf90 is similar to others in the Ferrari lineup so it doesn't have that wow factor valhalla gets being different from the rest of the Aston Martins. That said, I realised I like the sf90 more than I thought. I'd change the front end and the rear window lower zone making it more simple, and I don't like the integration of the exhaust pipes. But apart of that I think its beautiful. I think that front 3/4 view doesn't make justice to its real look.

This car is absolutely chiseled! I *LOVE* Aston Martin and think they're currently better than Ferrari (don't flame me) design-wise. I really don't like rapid rear greenhouse upsweeps on Ferraris; it just doesn't blend well overall. By contrast, Aston Martin is hitting it out of the ballpark with their designs the past half decade or so. The Valhalla, aside from having a far, far cooler name, is so much better looking than the SF90. One thing I disagree about is the lower rear intake not being well integrated. Its contours can be slightly improved but the long and narrow 'louvered' section behind the side windows mirrors the two vertical lines of the intake. Hope to see more future models along this car's aesthetic philosophy, and please god, no Aston Martin EVs!

Aston Martin had its peak In 2019. The trio of Valkyrie, Valhalla and Vanquish was drop dead gorgeous. Seeing what the Valhalla had been turned into is more than sad. 1020hp to 950hp. Aston V6 to AMG V8. Now also messy exterior. The headlights are weird, the grille is catastrophic. However the SF90 is the weakest Ferrari for sure. Honestly just hate this super-hypercar-class they're building. Both absolutely messy. Seeing this I'm afraid of what happened to the Vanquish. Also note; 2023 release, is this a joke?

@@RatimirRS Yes. The “shapes and lines are slightly better integrated” is patently false and the exact opposite of what was explained in the video. The Ferrari has numerous clashing lines and design concepts that kill any sort of elegant flow of cohesive design.
@RatimirRS

@@sunvanchavaska2489 Not all lines are supposed to flow from the front all the way to the rear. Aston Martin looks more traditional, and has a lot of resemblance to current Koenigsegg cars. Ferrari looks much more modern and interesting. Just look at the side air intake on the Aston Martin; it doesn't really fit that well, while it sits perfectly on the Ferrari!

One is a true 600K car with Carbon tub, lightweight, looks like a hypercar, knowing Aston Im sure will sound like one....... Other is outdated Aluminium built chassis with heavy weight, boring engine taken from F8 added some batteries to it so price jumps by twice as much........ Sad so sad to see Ferrari doing this, they always were about driving experience than actual performance numbers, but SF90 is just numbers car not a true Ferrari just like Chris Harris said..... 296 GTB on other hand is a true Ferrari formula, Lightweight, RWD, Great sound, Great balance (with small wheelbase)

Sf90 isn't a limited edition. Ferrari never has said that car was a special edition or limited in units. Vahalla is limited edition as it was reported only 500 are being made. Biggest difference. By the way engine comes from Mercedes. So is it that bad when it shares an engine from an AMG vs a in house engine used in the F8?

Secondly the V8 from Mercedes will be heavily modified by them just like they said to have Aston Character, SF90 doesn't sound good at all, infact one of worst sounding supercars in the market...... 3rd just like I said Aston have chassis and aerodynamics justify its price, SF90 barely can generate downforce infact you need over 50K option of Fiorano package to have more downforce...... Lastly what makes SF90 special when a Tesla Plaid can beat it easily on numbers? Ferrari never built a car to make numbers, but in SF90 its to make money, watch its value dropping soon massively with 296 arrival

Lol. Asinine statement. But, you couldn’t afford either, so your opinion means nothing. As an SF90 owner, I can say with confidence…you have no fucking idea what technology is outdated. Moreover, owners of the AM (at least in the U.S.) won’t have shit for service, for what is a low volume one-off car that will quickly become outdated. Where does AM have experience with hybrid technology?
