The Maruti S-cross is sold through the Nexa dealerships and was one of the first crossover cars in India. It has sold over 1.5 lakh units since launch in late 2015. Here's why yo should consider buying one.

I also bought a S-cross bs6 on Dec 2021 and it's worth the money. It is spacious and comfortable in bad roads as well as in the highways with good ground clearance too.

I have S Cross, its an excellent strongly built vehicle..it is a cross over and not a SUV..milage in city around 15 kmpl and in highways touches 18 kmpl..i have petro variant

Have been using for last 4 years, driven 75k kms. Still feels like new and fresh. Amazing ride quality for highway drives. Its a fun to drive car and service cost is under 10k for an year that too from Maruti

These cars are good in build and spacious...unfortunately we need maruti bs6 refined diesel engines back to its portfolio due to increasing running costs for long distances and pocket friendly

Why Scross is a better car ? 1) More than 4meters, not a compact SUV. 2) More cabin space than its rivals, ample rear sitting space. 3) 1.5 L engine, superb performance. 4) 4 Disc breaks. 5) Very good mileage with under 12L range. 5) All 4 alloys, 4 NCAP rating. 6) Hybrid feature really saves fuel. 7) No blind spot near window. 8) No engine noise inside the car. 9) Superb pickup in Manual variant. 10) Speaker are top class! 4+4 speakers and tweeters. I own a SCross Zeta Petrol Manual from Pune , for 11.50 L. Have test driven all compact SuVs in this range. If you are not a big fan of classy interiors and rely more on driving performance, then go for Scross! Cheers.

Its raining s-cross all over india right now. Especially in kerala where I'm from. We got our automatic one 3 months back. Refinement levels are top notch. It feels really solid and gives you a polished driving experience. As you said the road presence is really good thanks to the color(Granite Grey) we went with. Our car stands out in a sea of compact "SUV"s. S-cross is finally getting the attention it deserved many years back. Such a great package.

Real s cross was 1.6L diesel rocket engine. After ecosport diesel this was the best diesel engine i had ever driven. Who wants fun to drive guys get a diesel engine.

Hi Ashish, I've been owning S Cross manual zeta since June 2021 and have driven it on long routes on many occasions. One problem that I've been facing with it is the steering causes quite a bit of discomfort and even stiffness to the right shoulder / upper arm when driven for 3 hrs or so.. Could you kindly advise a solution? When I consulted service advisor of MSIL, they have kind of put the blame on me.. so not sure. I didn't face this issue with my previous cars (Creta and I 10).. Will be keeping an eye out for your advise pls.

Have u tried changing your driving position ? Once i had same issue with nios, adjusting driver seat closer to steering solved my issue, you may adjust steering height, seat height, seat distance from steering.

Not sure if this will help as you may have already tried various positions of the steering and seat. (Telescopic steering is what solved my issue). Will share my experience. I am 6ft tall, so I had issues with the A-Pedal and steering position initially and had feet pain and neck pain. I moved the seat a bit more backwards than my usual position in other cars to give more room for my legs, slightly increased the seat height to give more support to my thighs and pulled the steering closer to me and so far so good.

@@josephf3648 thanks for reply. Tried a few combinations of seat height, steering angle and telescopic adjustment.. it hasn't helped much.. Will try more combinations. Issue is only the strain caused to right shoulder and to some extent the right arm. Thanks for advise!

If sticking to petrol, scross automatic is a great option. Kick down acceleration in the midrange is not good, but low end and top end are great. Space, comfort and ride quality are better than compact SUVs. If more torque and and mileage are required, amaze diesel cvt is a good option. If budget can be stretched, sonet diesel auto is a great package, but rear seat space and comfort goes for a toss. I’m not a big fan of 1L turbo + DCT due to reliability issues..

the best car in maruti portfolio scross is getting discontinued..what a shame!!! . For a geniune buyer there are limited cars available in India. Either the companies are leaving the Indian market, or else they are having very limited cars in their portfolios

- The most essential and practical parameter while driving in a metro city is the mid-range acceleration. While, at most of the times, the rules or speed-monitoring systems force us to drive within the recommended limit of 40/50kmph, one tends to touch 100kmph as soon as one lands into an unmonitored speed zone and this goes on - The new age diesel cars had become more suitable for such scenarios but the 10years limit stops most from investing in one now (due to their faster depreciating market value) - CNG cars have the most pathetic mid-range/overall acceleration for sure - Scross 1.6L diesel was the perfect match for a heavy body like that of Scross - Scross 1.3L diesel felt underpowered My question is whether SCross Petrol has a good mid-range acceleration and whether is it fun to drive on a usual day in a metro city?

The mid-range from around 3000 to 4000/4500 rpm is a little dull. But I have never had to push it that far for those quick overtakes or to close gaps within the city. I find it more like a diesel right from the get go due to its great low end torque and the SHVS assist upto 2500 to 3000rpm. which makes it fun to drive in the city. Out on the highway, when you need to overtake at speeds above 80kmph, there you may miss the midrange grunt of the turbo petrols, but give it a second to cross the 4500rpm mark and it just jumps again, and makes you smile.

Best part of this car is it doesn't feel heavy while driving. It is smooth, swift and most importantly very easy to drive. I have petrol manual zeta variant, 11.50 on road. Pune

@@gyanmatianmemories3049 I get 15.1 as of now (city). Been 2 weeks only. My first service is due in end of May. Probably after first service I will be getting near about 16-17. Go for it. Its a fabulous car if you looking for comfort and space!

Ashish sir, I chose Verna over Scross because during the test drive, I drove both Scross and Verna. At higher RPM I felt Verna engine was comparatively much quieter than Scross. What's your opinion on this?

SCross is noiser at high speeds, the gearing is slightly shorter, so the RPMs are lil higher vis a vis speed

Verna is a sedan and one should never compare sedan with crossover/suv/minisuv etc as sedan anytime have superior driving dynamics due to aerodynamic structure and lighter weight.

i have some negative comments also as i purchased in jun'21. rear seat comfort is not good seat quality and reline angle is poor. hybrid is gimmick. dashboard is old compared to competition. kia carens makes this look overpriced and ancient.

everything abt this car is good, but the auto gearbox is awful. maruti has to come up with better autoboxes, but unfortunately looking at new baleno AMT, it appears they have a regressive approach

The gearbox looks awful on paper. But in real world it's actually fine if you are gentle with the throttle. Its refined and most importantly reliable compared to the likes of half baked automatics like amt or even some DCTs offered by the koreans.
