Interesting that it can be FWD, RWD or AWD. Also interesting that the RWD is the largest battery and best range. It's a good looking vehicle too, I'd take it over the regular blazer. Excellent interview as well, asked important questions about battery configuration and actually let the man talk.
@davidlemieux615

Makes sense as it will be made on same line as the ICE version which offers FWD and AWD models. With electric, contrary to ICE, that means you must have room for motor in front and back. FWD does not mean the same as it did with ICE as the weight of the engine and transmission is no longer focused on front of vehicle. Does show how this is basically an ICE vehicle modified for BEV usage.

@@sipher3516 it has the longest range not because it’s RWD, it’s because it’s the best way to fit the largest battery in this platform. FWD vs RWD means nothing with respect to range - it’s the battery size. AWD is a different story, it does actually affect range because of the extra power used for the additional motor, etc.

One key comment I got from this video.... reserve a charge station? So that means if you in route you can reserve the charger? What if all the chargers are in use but one is open and you pull in as a normal driver with no reserve can that person use the charger or does the charger not work because it's been reserved for the guy 30 minutes away in his new Blazer? 🤔

Yes, that is kind of a weird idea for EV's is reserve a charging station. I can see someone who doesn't have this features pull up and all the stations are reserved. but, no cars are there yet. That kind of sucks for that kind of service when pretty soon there will be more EV vehicles on the road looking to be charged up. I have kind of a thumbs down on this kind of service.

I'm wondering when they are going to release the numbers for the horsepower on the RS AWD. They are supposed to be selling the car this summer so I'd think they'd need to get that out soon. I find it odd that you can get horsepower numbers on the Equinox which will be released later. I can understand not releasing prices on the Equinox until the last minute but you'd think they'd know the horsepower on the Blazer or at least a close number. I'm hoping they keep a large rear wheel motor on the AWD RS.

Those are really good looking Ev’s. I’m still on the fence about owning a electric vehicle, but at least I’m looking. What is stuck in my mind is that all these new cars are still the in the early stages of development Regardless of how long they’ve been out there. Battery technology is constantly changing. If I bought a new electric car today, in two years it would be out of date because the battery technology is constantly evolving. The example is the cell phone. Every year they’re coming out with a new improved cell phone/battery technology. Anyways I’ll keep my eyes open, and stay on the positive side.

I really like the look especially the RS which is the only version to have standard towing. Since the Lyriq tows 3500 pounds, I assume Blazer will be the same. Too bad they couldn't work their packaging to include a front storage, especially if you pick the RWD version. You have to wonder how Tesla is so good at packaging with dual motors in the same size car. I really object to the concept of reserved charging. I don't know how they plan to implement that because I would not want to pull up to a charger and see reserved on the screen, or be charging and be cut off because someone reserved that unit. Especially if they reserved it and were late arriving. All chargers should be first come, first served. I am perfectly fine cutting people off at 80% during very busy times, or fining people who leave a car plugged in when it's full.

As someone who has a deposit on an SS, I sure wish the presenter would have gotten some more detail about nearly the only OPENING moonroof in the entire EV industry . That was a missed moment for sure.and info that had yet to be shared anywhere else. It appears to open in a unique way as well. Missed opportunity for sure.

The Kia EV6 GtLine and the Hyundai Ionia 6 sedan both have moonroofs that open. This is important to me too and I’m happy the Blazer will have one available too. My problem all of these cars are about $10k more than I want to spend but inflation I guess?

@@OlJackBurton I would gladly trade a roof that can open and let in fresh air over a panoramic roof. There are lots of evs with glass roofs and only a few with roofs that actually open.

The battery pack determined the wheelbase? Seriously? That's a recipe for disaster.

I feel like a trim level could have been named literally anything other than SS. Then again I know nothing about chevys naming convention

Good interior. Still not a fan of the Jet air tunnels but I like the rest of it, flows very well. The exterior is still not my favorite. It’s still the mix of the Camaro and equinox’s baby. It’s got the CUV sport look everything in the industry is going. Even the Silverado EV is looking this way it just doesn’t flow. Need something new and not so much of the Modern “bubbly” style. Needs a sleek sharp look. It’s why Ford and Dodge still continue to outsell when it comes to the sports and muscle cars.

Now we just have to wait and see how Chevy will take a cool vehicle and ruin it by making all the cool stuff subscription-based since they think that is cool. Don't want Onstar to bad, want that cool screen to work pony up. Let's hope the buyers don't stand for that subscription crap and just give us a cool functioning vehicle

Sheesh, their Marketing-Speak is getting so silly and doesn’t sound authentic: “So walking you through the technology journey on the Blazer…” or “The lighting really celebrates the design of…” 🙄
