Thanks for your video. What is the tax on dividend when buying the Danish share vs the ADR?

Great question! The dividend withholding tax for Danish stocks is between 10-15% for foreign individuals: taxsummaries.pwc.com/denmark/corporate/withholding-taxes Apparently, it is the same for an ADR: investmentmoats.com/money-management/dividend-investing/how-to-calculate-dividend-withholding-taxes-on-us-adrs-for-international-investors-my-experience-with-telefonica/ But we'd prefer to own the Danish shares directly just to be sure.

In general, we prefer owning a share directly, assuming the fees are more or less the same.

Given that Eli Lilly has its own competitive offerings of Mounjaro and Zepbound, as well as its foray into the Alzheimer’s market (pending regulatory approval), how do you see Eli Lilly as a competitor and its longer term prospects vis a vis Novo?

Eli Lilly is the main competitor to Novo Nordisk in the diabetes and obesity markets at this time. Novo Nordisk is the leader right now, but Eli Lilly will definitely grab some market share, but this is fine as the overall pie is growing. Longer term, it depends on their respective R&Ds and whether they can invent better solutions to solve the world's healthcare issues. Alzheimer’s, as you mentioned, is a good case in point: There is currently no cure for Alzheimer’s, but a drug that can cure, or significantly slow the onset of, the disease opens a new market for the company. If Eli Lilly is the first to do this, then it enjoys a first-mover advantage and has a significant growth opportunity while its patent is in effect.

I bought both early on, seeing as only these 2 are in the business of relieving obesity; if you buy both you literally corner the market... the only risk with novo nordisk is that in lab rats theres an increased rate of thyroid cancer; as long as it doesnt translate to humans you should be safe... diversify...
