Sad you can't see that the cops broke the law. They attacked, assaulted, kidnapped, unlawfully imprisoned him for expressing a constitutionally protected right that has been ruled on by SCOTUS. 18US241 Conspiracy to deprive and 18US242 Deprivation of rights under the color of law. are felonies. When attaching kidnapping as a factor it increases the potential penalty to include the death penalty. I invite you to research these federal statutes yourself. I also pose the question. Other then having their feelings hurt by being flipped off. What crime did the man commit. See this also enters into an excessive use of force. Examining the grand factors in this case. 1. Severity of the CRIME - None 2. Was the person fleeing to avoid arrest. - No. 3. Did he pose a risk of harm to the officer or others. - No. This will end in a lawsuit at minimum and potential criminal charges for every officer present.

I mean the cops should have already been off the property at that point and left him before they aggrevated his frail mental health any further. It's obvious he was placed in that home to keep him out of trouble and he can barely handle human interaction lasting over ten minutes, if they just backed up like they were preparing to leave it would have helped pasify his irrational paranoia that was obviously increasing as he was getting it into his mind that they were still lingering around confronting him after he proved he wasn't harming himself, others, and is not on mentally ill, but has access to medications to attempt to treat his illness in his house. Instead they saw an avenue for an "assualt" charge and decided to shove him instead of backing up away from him and cutting the unnecesary conversation short and getting back to performing their duties and patrols.

@@stoverboo Exactly. These ppl who think the cops should leave ppl like this alone are ridiculous. Then who gets blamed when the person inevitably harms themselves or someone else? I will agree that cops SHOULDN’T have to deal with ppl going through mental health episodes, but until ppl want to come up with the funding & everything for a task force of professionals specifically for that, the cops are the ones who have to handle it. You can’t claim to want to live in a civilized society while allowing & encouraging this type of stuff.

I've rewatched the interaction several times, and I don't see any point where he poked or touched the cop, including right before they tackled him. He was unwise to keep coming up on the cops like he did, but I never saw him make physical contact. Right before he got tackled he was walking away. Yes he did say "f*** you" and flipped the cop off, but that's not illegal.

Yeah, either the title is lying or they just chose not to show the bodycam footage which makes it obvious? Maybe it did happen, (but it doesn’t seem like it did), and the bodycams just didn’t happen to pick it up, but I feel like if you title the video “this is why you don’t poke a cop”, the video should include an obvious visual depiction of someone poking a cop, or it’s kinda clickbait
