Always loved the way this song was constructed and written, an absolute classic Beatles song. That opening line; "To lead a better life, I need my love to be here". Only McCartney could write that and have it lead us into a song it's not heard in again. These guys were at the very top of their game. The greatest band of all time....

This is one of the first Beatles songs I ever heard and it made me stop in my tracks for a minute. It was so beautiful and well-put together that it captured me from the first listen. The thing is, however, I learned years later I was listening to this take and not the studio version. There's something about how spare this take is in its production and general instrumentation that draws me to it as much as the released version. Fuckin beautiful, man.

I love hearing how hard this for Paul to sing. He's really challenged himself on this one. I love that he was brave enough to write a song he would struggle to perform. And that's the Beatles, ladies and gentlemen. Paul McCartney, ladies and gentlemen. Now would you please give up for Mr. (Sir) Paul McCartney.

Wdym hard to sing for Paul and struggle to perform?
@babylonian.captivity7 ай бұрын
@@tutortle1820Well, you can hear it in his intonation. It’s not easy for him to hit all the notes. The intervals are a challenge. He’s also struggling with the phrasing, the meter. You can hear how tentative he is.

It's good to hear a raw version .... I'm so used to the final cut. A special song. Who woulda thought back then that there would be this ... take 7 overdub of take13 .... out for people to listen to. Back then... when we talked music ... the question for almost everybody was .... after the Beatles, who's your favorite group?

I like the sparse instrumentation, the mild whack on the guitar, and the brilliant lick in the chorus. IMHP strings would have made it syrupy.

Back when Paul was sensibly unwoke. Him flying the Ukrainian flag at Glastonbury was a complete embarrassment and changed my mind about him. Senility comes to us all I suppose.

And where else has he proven to be "woke"? You people are so narrow-minded and shallow that you'll throw words around and base your opinion on someone's entire character and personality upon one single political belief. Pathetically juvenile.
