We've got a busy day filled with EVERYTHING! Here we go! Morning chores, moving the cattle to new pasture, picking up a fresh batch of beef from the butcher, tinkering with the equipment...it's all in a day's work!
-We do not offer farm tours or accept visitors
-We do not sell from the farm
-We do not ship our farm's products
-We do not sell live animals

Pete, I have been following you for years now and look forward to your videos. For all the folks that want to tell you a better way to do things. There is only one right way to farm. That’s the way that is right for you. I have found that those who are the most vocal are usually the ones that have the least to say and have never farmed. Keep up the great work.

Hi Pete, this question is from another video. You spoke if feeding corn to the cows that were going to be butchered, you said when you were farming with your father the cows gained weight on corn. I think you said they don't now. Do you have any feelings about GMO corn?

Pete, I chuckled more than usual in this video, it was so good. From your chatty customer and that adorable Ezra the cat, to the griping cows who are so spoiled and taken such good care of, and your fascination with entering doorways, (LOVED that you pointed out how Ezra was hidden on one of the shelves watching you, by the way. I would have never noticed if you hadn't pointed it out. lol) Great video, Pete. As always. Oh, and put your pig feed in something heavy that they can't knock around, dumping it out. :)

Grass fed & grass finished burger is the BEST!!!!! I love the burger from my farmer, who lives about an hour away, but I take delivery whenever he has errands to run & we meet in a town about halfway between us. Because it's just me, roasts are so big, and steaks are so expensive, I buy only ground beef. It's super lean, super tasty, and incredibly versatile - and even if I only buy twenty pounds at a time, the price is lower than I'd pay if I bought beef by the quarter. Plus, they're a wonderful young family who practice regenerative agriculture & are restoring their pastures to native grasses. I'm thrilled with every aspect of our dealings!

A local farm here in town just lost 40 round bales in a combustion fire. He had them covered with a tarp, and his wife saw smoke. Took 5 fire departments, 80,000 gallons of water, 2 days, and 3 excavators. My wife could still smell the smoke this morning. They figure it will burn the rest of the weekend.

Pete, I know some commenters are hateful about ur restoration techniques. But, I love those videos. Ur tractor restoration videos are among my favorites. I was raised riding on my grandpa's lap feeding cattle from his 1951 Super C. 1st tractor I ever drove. I was 4 yrs old and he'd put it in 1st gear and tell me keep it going towards a tree while he went to the trailer to feed the cattle. Those are cherished memories. If you restore it, please show all the details like you were doing. I'd love to see it. Thanks much for the great content.

I love all your tractors -- International Harvester were among my favorites growing up. My Uncle Don had an M and an H model back in the early '60s and I drove both of them briefly when we would visit them. They had about 80 acres with about 8 acres of woods and 35 head of White Faced Hereford cattle. I caught big bass in the pond from which we would fill the watering trough from a pipe that went through the dam. When they first moved back from Florida they had to run the electrical wire and the house did not have indoor plumbing. There was an outhouse the first couple of years. Water was hauled in and stored in a cistern. I would help Uncle Don repair fences, poisoned thistle in the feed lot and helped move hay and straw. Mr. Sussot would come from down the road and bale the alfalfa or straw and we would put the square bales in the barn with his boys. They would take like 1/3 of the bales home for coming to bale and I would help them unload them into the barn. There was a big old frame church that was on their property, they kept chickens in there. In the evening you could see the steeple and the three Pondorosa Pines that grew right next to the church as the sun was setting. One year Uncle Don grew quail. They were very cool to look at when they were chicks. The farm is long gone -- all the buildings and fence rows have been removed and the ground has been recontoured to eliminate the stock pond. The woods, however, is still there. Along the back side of the woods there are blackberry briars along a fence line adjacent to where Uncle Don grew the alfalfa. I have been picking blackberries off of those briars for over 50 years. Although I will never own this property, when I walk into the woods I feel a feel a sense of belonging as I have been visiting them since I was a little boy. It was a totally different farm experience from what you are perfecting but somehow similar. The first couple of years they had about 20 pigs and later had chickens. The old barn got hit by a tornado and there were a bunch of them stuck in the hay bin in the destroyed barn. I had to climb up on the pile and open the door to release them. We chopped their heads off and made chicken soup, cleaned and froze a bunch of them. My dad, my Uncle Walt and I built a shelter for one of the pigs. We gathered up over 100 sheets of corrugated galvanized roofing that were strewn all over the farm from both of the barns. Aunt Lois taught us all how to can green beans, make chili sauce and bread-and-butter pickles. My grandma liked to make chow-chow. Later in life I realized how privileged I was to be able to watch the last chapter in subsistence farming in this country. Everybody that lived around the area would help with bringing in the harvest, canning and freezing corn. It was an amazing experience -- at the time it was just what you were living through, today I think the memories are very special.

This is similar to how I grew up. I am in my 60's now and remember helping on the farms of both my grandparents and other family and neighbors around the little town I grew up in. I tell my kids about what we did and why and they have a hard time visualizing that. Pete's videos and other small farmers videos help with that, thank God for farmers and their families. Someone keeps the traditions alive, maybe not the same way but in the same spirit of what is important. I have eaten many things raised on a farm that are not sold in stores anymore, I laugh when some of it grosses out the kids, cow tongue and chitlins are long gone from my diet, but I like tongue not so crazy about chitlins.

Great video Pete , a busy day on the farm. The C starts so nice and easy and just purrs like a kitten. Since you've gone thru the steering, transmission and electrical it does not seem to warrant a complete rebuild maybe just a fresh valve job with hardened seats performed by a good machinist a few gaskets and a fresh paint job and that awesome tractor will last your lifetime. A nice winter project. Have a great holiday weekend, steaks should sell like hotcakes this weekend.

Life on the farm in good weather is very special. That beef is great and when you know how they were raised is the best meat you can have. Our milking herd many times would be ready to get on the barn when milking was to begin. Great memories Pete
