I heard the song after my 3 year old son passed of cancer. I tell myself he just had higher priorities than staying here with us. I cry every day, but I do have hope and comfort knowing that he is with Jesus, and I will see him again. 💔

I stopped in to visit with my foster brother Mark Catanzero when his second son Monte was a baby. I had also been diagnosed with lymphoma for the second time and was thinking a lot about heaven. They've had some of the craziest stories to tell, too! 1:When Ernie Philips left the Kingsmen Quartet back in Late 1983, Jim Hamill was doing something somewhere, when this funny-looking young man, with kinda long hair, came up to him, and told him that he could sing Tenor. Jim took one look at him, and apparently didn't really like him at first glance...but they got to talkin', and Jim and Eldridge Fox gave that guy a chance. They told him that he'd have to get a haircut, and that he'd have to dress up, and learn their material...and the next thing you know, he was in! That was, of course, Garry Sheppard. There was another story, about how there was this small Plane that Jim and Ernie and some of the others had to use... They took off, and, down at the end of the Runway, they barely cleared the Treeline! Come to find out, they had a lot of weight onboard the Plane... and it was almost too much, what with Records and Tapes that they had to carry with 'em. In the meantime, Jim just barely got his door closed on that Plane. He had to sit up front. When they went to get out of the Plane, Jim just barely touched the unlocking apparatus on that door...and it popped open! It had barely been shut the entire trip...and, had Jim done anything to jar that door up in the air, that door woulda popped open, right then and there, and Jim Hamill woulda fell out of that Plane, and would've fallen to his death! There's a lot more I could tell, but I'll save it for later. Have a great day!

Jim Hammil may be one of the most underrated SINGERS in gospel music history. Obviously he's a hall of famer and icon but a lot of that is due to his personality and his humble willingness to let others shine. But nobody could take the lead on a song like this quite like "Big Jim"

I didn't want my dad to listen to that "garbage," but he could listen to the Kingsmen or the Cathedrals. To me, they weren't southern gospel. Why? I don't know. I was a Kingsmen girl and I collected their cassettes. I loved Arthur Rice. I had the pleasure of meeting the group when I as 10. They are outstanding men. I still listen to their music and, to me, there isn't any group that is any better. They lived what they sung.

I think every group that leaves home , hearth , and family to fulfill the Great Commission is God's favorite. Looks like a lot of fun, and it is, but when you see the world hru God's eyes, it leaves you with a heavy burden to see everyone saved. Those of us who have done our preaching from a song book, as our Bible, will never know what the impact has been on the Eternal souls until we get home. God Bless those that challange us to work, for the night is coming, when no man. can work.
