Patty-I think they were all perfectionists in their own way. They each had their gifts. Barry had incredible passion, Robin had soulful vulnerability, and Mo was the master at harmony, Barry's own words.

I could seriously watch the Bee Gees childhood videos, and listen to their music, all day long.

Chad L. Summers - Less than an hour ago I finished reading their biography, "Tales of the Brothers Gibb". The last chapters were about the loss of Mo and Rob so to see "Alone" made me cry all over again. Barry is ALONE, even at the end of the video. Mo, the wonderful, sweet jokester who overcame alcoholism and found peace in life but never received due recognition. All the Bee Gees supported charities but the last chapter on Robin broke my heart. I knew he was an historian and philanthropist but never knew the true scope of what he did, driven even more after losing his twin. He said you couldn't put time in the bank. He was driven to perform even when in agony, was President of The British Heritage Society, spoke in Parliament and worldwide for veterans, disadvantaged children in outreach programs where they were given opportunities, fighting and succeeding to have the WW2 Bomber Command Memorial built in London to the undying gratitude of the few vets left (unveiled by the Queen a month after he died), fighting for and winning the rights of composers (as president of their organization) to be justly compensated for their music, writing the philharmonic Titanic Requiem for the anniversary of that disaster (including the song "Don't cry alone", taped to be performed at the presentation because he was too ill to attend and sadly left for his widow when he died a month later). How hard he fought to live and suffered horribly. DAMN! I just stopped crying after finishing the book and then you play "Alone"! I'm sending you a bill for my Kleenex! Thank you nevertheless.

Always loved how Maurice would be smiling. I wish Barry would put more home movies on for us to see, especially in the recording studio.

I’m obsessed with the Bee Gees I could sit here all night and watch their videos and listen to their beautiful harmonies. It takes me to heaven. They are angelic to me. :-)

In an interview with Barry after his brothers passed he regretted his was not talking too each of them before they passed and that was something he had to live with. There he was all alone in the studio.

I look at your reactions and all I can say is "exactly". One of the greatest mysteries of life is that we feel. Even sad emotions are a gift and a miracle. The song simply captures life. It is true that in the end no matter who we are, king or pauper, we all end up alone.

All time favorite, I have to say the Bee gees music has helped bring calm to a tough year. I recently read from people who worked with them on the production side that they would have them all set up 3 mics, 3 headsets and they would insist they created and performed better with just one mic between them. Such a natural talent. A bit of 'trivia', I guess. This song was from 1997 and originally had no music video. Barry only made this music video for the song more recently, after the death of Robin, as a tribute to his brothers. That's why it shows snippets of their life, and in the end (you may have noticed), Barry is the only one standing behind the microphone - now 'Alone'. The song took on a more personal meaning after the death of Maurice and Robin (and Andy) - for Barry specifically, but also for fans who have followed them over the years. Though I love this song, it always leaves me feeling sad.

Love how the video shows the personality and sense of humor of the brothers! Also LOVE how they write lyrics that COMPLETELY fill the bar of music! Nothing wasted or left empty, every second is used.

I enjoy hearing/seeing people enjoy later Bee Gees work because their 60's and 70's recordings get so much attention that 80's Bee Gees onwards seem to largely get ignored with the odd exception.

Maurice always behind the camera when Robin n Barry ran a muck as kids,lolol..somewhat like Maurice did in the group in the background, glad he was up on stage with playing instruments too... He luved all of it..he did alot of the production etc so gifted as all 3 of them were.💙

Oh this video had me reminiscing about the time I met the twins Robin & Maurice while I was at a swimming carnival at Bronte Beach in Sydney I was about 14 I think and they were asking about the beach etc..I knew who they were and I think I managed to answer most of their questions lol...Best day of my young life at the time...except that one of the nuns from our school saw me and I was not allowed to go to the finals...lol Thanks again Chad for your 'reactions'

The "Still Waters" album is another great one! sold some millions copies and entered the top ten charts in many countries. in the '90s they still had so much to give musically! Detractors and critics you better surrender to the talent of these guys and pay them the due care and respect!😠

Alone is one of my favorite songs. Mo left us about 6 years after this song was released. In the video at the very end Barry is all alone and he sings I don't want to be alone. It is sort of foreshadowing of what is to happen to the Bee Gees. Moe left us in 2003 Robin left us in 2012, Barry is alone. I am grateful that he has his Sons who composed with him and Steven who plays on stage with him but as the Bee Gees he's alone. I miss MO and Robin AND I miss the Bee Gees. ( yes I know there was Andy, but he wasn't a Bee Gee)

I just melt into a puddle of warm blissful love when I listen to these amazing souls signing their fantastic creations. I fell into the Bee Gees' rabbit hole 🕳 - right there! Did you see me? - about three years ago, and I never want to be rescued.. The sounds they can make are at times otherworldly. My favorite lyric (so far, anyway), is from And The Sun Will Shine when Robin sings "I call your name and love, 'cause life to me is love, and I live you." I'm so blessed to have the Brothers Gibb as a large part of the soundtrack of my life. Chad, I love your reactions and watching you discover their journey piece by piece.
