I agree with you so much the base is critical in all musical groups. It is the one you think you don't hear but if it was missing it would all sound like a bunch of tinging symbols. Thanks for bringing that out, awesome!

They sing with such ease, hands in pockets, so relaxed, harmonies just fall out of their mouths. Little did they know in under 10 years Barry would be alone. I guess we hope our talented people would always be with us. Mortality awaits us all, R.I.P. twins.

Christopher Carter I so agree. IMO, they were under appreciated during their heyday. I know they sold millions but it was almost a sacrilege to prefer them over the Beatles when they first came out, and later during their disco phase, rockers slammed them for their music. Yet they survived and thrived and outlasted the Beatles! I’ve always loved them. So glad Jayvee does too!

They HAD something. It was magic; that's the only word I can think of that describes it best. By the way...I don't know if you even noticed or not, throughout this video, that there were clips mixed in of what looked like someone's home movies. And it was. It was THEM, when they were kids. There are several different documentaries here on KZfaq about their lives and career. They're ALL good, and give you a great insight into their lives through the years, and their music. Robin’s voice is just so HAUNTINGLY beautiful! I SO enjoy your videos brutha! I rarely leave my house anymore due to extreme PTS related anxiety, and it is extremely refreshing to see your reactions to these wonderful older songs! On a side note, I was speaking with Bobby Hatfield’s(Righteous Brothers) daughter and one of his son’s recently and she and he just loved your reaction to Bobby’s live 1965 performance of “Unchained Melody”!

@Diana Gero I am fond of all of them but he swallowed things for the sake of the group. You might Google his interview with Lynn Redgrave which is about 30 minutes. Very insightful. Lovely man and family.

I love that song too. I dont know of any song of theirs that i didnt love. As for hearing Robin's voice he did more of the songs in the early to mid 70's. I have to admit he is my favorite. Check out the concert that they did in Melbourne, Australia in 1974. You could get clips of songs in that concert that Robin sang lead in and they are wonderful. I cant see nobody, Massachusetts, I started a joke and many more in that concert that i would love to see your reaction.

SO HAPPY!! Your getting to some of their newer stuff! This song is so freat! I love the way they layer the vocals and your right! Even though the lyrics are about being alone and unrequited love, the upbeat tempo is just HAPPY! I told you a couple of times that you would really love their newer stuff. Barry is STILL recording but with his sons and Maurices daughter Samantha. Still writing great music. Barry will be 74 on Sept. 1st, which is also his 50th Wedding Anniversary! A WELL LIVED LIFE! Its time to hear a Maurice song! His voice is also beautiful, and is the melodic foundation of all their songs. Barry said it this way, Maurice was an EXPERT harmonizer. He always found the perfect pitch to complimant Robin and Barrys pitch. People dont often realize that alot of the falsetto parts were MAURICE! You picked up on it in "Nights on Broadway". Thats why I suggested that you might want to watch live performances so you coulds see who was singing which parts. In the 70's the Bee Gees started working with a famous producer, Arif Mardin, who asked them if any of them could "Scream" in tune, lol! THAT is how Barry discovered he could sing entire songs in falsetto! Try one of these, "Man in the Middle", Maurice wrote it partly about how he was always the middle guy, the peacemaker between Barry and Robin who at times would were competitive growing up. "Closer Than Close" a modern grown up sensous love song. Maurice Maurice was never given the due he deserved. He played MANY instruments and wrote songs as well, and his voice was beautiful. Trivia, NONE of the Gibbs could read or write music! EXTRODINARY!

It was a true pleasure to see you enjoy this song. You really did enjoy it. You have reacted to two of my favourite BeeGees songs To Love Somebody (1967) and Alone (1997). Alone is like nothing I've heard before - maybe it's the bagpipes. Robin's part is sublime. In that video, I saw a clip from their first big hit (in Australia) called spics and specks (meaning bits and pieces). It is a great song and even has a video where they are so very young. Would be great if you checked it out. It couldn't be more catchy.

Thanks, Javon, for another great reaction! Love that you love our boys! Every reaction has been just awesome. Hoping you react to some of Robin's leads soon from the late 60's and early 70's like "I Can't See Nobody" and "And the Sun Will Shine". So many great songs to choose from during this era. You won't be disappointed choosing any Bee Gees song to react to, I promise!

Every time I hear you say how much you enjoy listening to them so many of us know exactly how you feel Jayvee. To listen to them sing brings joy to my heart too, I love every song from them and I really don't think that they sang or wrote a bad song. My husband and I have spent many hours listening to them and when I have a bad night (like tonight) when the arthritic pain keeps me awake I listen to them and I can relax. I may not sleep until I am exhausted but I can enjoy my time with their wonderful music. God bless you all, peace love and hugs to you all Mary-Ellen UK
