My mom experienced this before I was born and my sister experienced this the first time she and her husband tried to start a family. It wasn't easy. Kudos to Kirsty for sharing such a raw, personal story. I wish for your continued healing.

They’re both so amazing and the acting is just so beautiful. Some certain scenes I have seen I believe Kirsty wasn’t acting, particularly when Leela and Joel got home and she cried into the blanket, those tears were real. I can’t imagine how hard it must be for her to relive her ordeal but she’s so incredible for doing this to spread awareness about stillbirth.

@@laurafabianmarreroAt first I thought it was cruel for the writers to do this to Kirsty but the more I thought about it I now think it’s a good move to spread awareness about this subject. This makes the storyline more realistic and believable.

@@laurafabianmarreroHer acting is top notch and so is Rory’s. I can see in some scenes that Kirsty wasn’t acting, she was reliving her ordeal, especially the scene when Leela is crying into Baby Noah’s fire engine blanket. Kym Marsh’s storyline in Corrie was equally devastating. Her acting was sensational and particularly the scene where Michelle gives birth it is blatantly obvious Kym was reliving her nightmare. She and her ex husband Jamie Lomas (who plays Warren in Hollyoaks) son Archie was severely premature and died shortly after. With Leela’s story I feel awful for Jamie too because this must bring back those horrible memories for him. Ugh it’s beyond unfair, no parent should ever go through that.

I can not believe how brave she's been doing this story line. It has absolutely broken me watching it. I remember her going through it at the time abd the shock of reading about what had happened..she was pregnant during in filming then the story broke her baby was born sleeping..Absolutely horrendous. It also happened to my cousin at full-term during labour.. you can't imagine the pain they must feel especially as a mother.. not forgetting the fathers part in it, they suffer the loss too. Such a brave lady..super well done as it happens, and there can never be enough awareness xx

Thank you so much for sharing your story with us Kirsty, I'm so glad that they didn't gloss over this storyline because it's so important, I have never related to a storyline so much and I'm so happy people can really see the pain it's takes when you lose a baby it's not easy and it never goes away it will always be apart of you but you do keep going eventually some how you do survive just one step at a time.

This broke me. It's been 20 years since my still birth. 20 long, painful years. Thank you, Kirsty, for bringing baby loss to the forefront again. It's so important that we just keep talking about our children. My only piece of advice to people supporting family through this grief is to be mindful of what you say. I will never forget my mother telling me that I was young, so could try again... Hours after I had delivered my little girl. It was the most heartbreaking thing anyone has ever said to me, through no malice. She just opened her mouth and words fell out. Sending love to all parents of Angels. It's definitely not a club any of us should be a part of.

Outstanding. THE best storyline I've seen on Hollyoaks and it's because it comes from a true, authentic place. Props to Kirsty for sharing a personal story in a very public work setting. Would be great to see another interview with Kirsty, Alanna Hallum (writer) and maybe one of the production team, detailing the storylining, research and writing process. It would be interesting to see what choices were made. I'm an early-career writer.
