Ok not my favorite format but I'm fine with videos like this. However one bit of criticism I can offer is check how long some text is on screen. I had to constantly rewind and pause the video multiple times to read some sentences that appeared and disappeared instantly

Minor correction, TS glitch actually doesn't increase damage, but instead stops the health refill inbetween rounds. Despite the health bar showing otherwise, if you pulled it off perfectly, your opponent will only have 1 HP during the time stop. For some reason, some characters are also not affected by this, like both Kaks (he needs it), S.Dio, Mariah (smh she's top tier pls ban)

When your game is so broken, even low tiers have unblockable TODs.

It might have just been Fightcade itself, but I also remember doing Hol's Trace of Bullets super and spinning the control stick enough to end up crashing the game. Also shit man I never knew Mariah lost magentism levels even if she *techs* a throw, she really is suffering

My guess as to what causes the time stop glitch is that it stops the health regen between rounds, so you're essentially just leaving them on a pretty small sliver of health. I'm guessing that either "taking damage" part ends up disabling the rest of the heal, or it's only programmed to "heal" for a certain time, which is over by the time the time stop ends.

Just want to say the HFTF videos got me to try out the game. I'm not at the point of actually playing with others but poking at the single player stuff has been neat.

I liked this video and also videos like this, and your channel, but one piece of constructive criticism I'd like to leave: A lot of the text could be on the screen for longer. I'm by no means a slow reader but a lot of the text goes by too fast to both read it and pay attention to what's going on on the screen, to the point where I was conditioned to just focus on text because I was worried I would miss something, resulting in me not really watching the video and I would have to rewind to see what the text was talking about. A good example is at 12:12 there is a line of text that is on the screen for less than a second. I'm sure its difficult to edit a video and know how long text needs to be on the screen and there is certainly a bias of how easy it is to read the text if you are the one writing it, but when you are watching a video for the first time fresh, the brain is doing double duty comprehending both the text and video and putting them both together. (a mental stack, if you will) Although I suppose it's fitting that a HFTF video runs mental mixups on the viewer given the insane pressure in the game.

Its videos like this that make me appreciative of HFTF's soundtrack. It still slaps 20+ years later

Absolutely loved the video, however if i can suggest maybe having the text stay on screen longer. Some sections like pet shops were very hard to read since text only stayed on screen for a second.

Might as well ask, do you know about any community revisions for this game or not? Quite a few games have gotten community revisions this year with stuff like Sonic the Fighters: Community Edition v2 and Don Don Never Dies: Judgement Day so I'm curious if this game is getting that treatment.

The reason why youngseph rekka is punishable is because the first hit of 5s ender is the launcher. What's even crazier is that first hit is UNTEACHABLE and if you watch guys like lamar davis play, can lead to an aja setup.

AFAIK the only reason the best finisher of JY's rekka does a hard knockdown after a combo is because at that point, it triggers the built in infinite prevention that is very strangely coded - if triggered, it changes the resulting attack to become a hard knockdown to stop your combo. The way it knows to trigger the infinite prevention is coded on a move to move basis. IIRC it depends on if your combo either plainly uses a move that's coded to trigger it, or if the combo starts with it, I don't remember. It's a wack thing to play around, but kinda cool that people figured out that you just need to do certain combos to set up the rekka knockdown always, a weird kind of knowledge check

9:24 don't forget that you can cancel his taunt into this 2 frame counter for easy damage (and psychological damage) at round start :)

Every now and then I see these videos, how come you never treated All Star Battle R ? In Europe it's still pretty much played if you like Jojo. The characters are pretty unique even for a fairly large roaster.

As broken as this game is, it's incredibly fun to watch. If capcom ever does a followup, I doubt they will exclude characters from parts 4 till present however....which means the roster will be pretty massive.

I always thought the time stop glitch wasn't dramatically increasing damage, it was freezing the enemy's health bar at 0 and thus making it so a single hit instantly killed them, since the super freezes the enemy's health bar until it finishes.

While the info in these kinds of vids is always interesting, the original smash videos were better about not giving you too much to read at once, so you could quickly get back to watching the video. As these kinds of videos get wordier and more complex i gotta rewind a lot or read really freakin fast throughout. Personally I think sf4 is broken (not one of your vids) was really bad about this. Sorry to complain, otherwise this is really informative

Coreect me of I wrong, about Youngseph's rekka, there's a video about combos, knockdowns and infinite prevention system by Gary Butternubs. Basically, the number of hits in a combo dictates the knockdown, knockdowns have stages, the value of 8 (usually the first hit of a combo) launches the opponent, allowing for a tech and the height of the launch will be reduced as the numbers goes down, all the way to the 0 value that forces the enemy to flop to the ground instantly, creating a hard knockdown. Youngseph's rekka on their own only creates techable knockdown because the combo value is still somewhere, maybe around 2, but adding some hits beforehand will maximize the knockdown stage into the stage 0, forcing the hard knockdown.

Fun fact: The Time Stop Glitch doesn't actually increase your damage drastically. What's really going on is that the opponent's health hasn't gone back up all of the way. Visually, the game shows that your health fully recovers before the "Fight!" graphic shows up, but the Time Stop prevents your health from going up or down until after the Time Stop is over. If you want proof of this, perform the glitch, but don't kill your opponent. Just let the Time Stop drain your meter. Once time resumes, the opponent should only have a small amount of health left. I forgot which video I saw that confirmed this, but I'll link it in the replies of this comment when I find it.
