Hermansson rebuilt Mesa Dual Rectifier Multi-Watt

This Mesa Dual Rectifier is modified by Hermansson Amplification.
The red and orange channels have the Hermansson 4 gain stages circuit.
The distortion is tighter, the dynamic response is increased and the overall noise floor is reduced. The layout is changed and shielded cables are installed to improve the signal-to-noise ratio. I've integrated my tightness control with the gain control for the orange channel so the voicing follows the gain sweep while the red channel is made slightly looser for lead stuff. The green channel is changed to sound more open and the layout is changed for this channel as well so you can turn treble and gain all the up in push mode without oscillations, the push mode have better string separation and dynamic response.

This is pretty sick, reminds me a lot of bonamassas tone boosted even more. Or a skid row lead tone like in 18 and life. Would be sick to hear how it sits in a mix with a backing track next time tho, awesome playing too my friend.

@@HermanssonAmplification Man, have watched this vid over and over since yesterday! Amazing tone, amazing playing, just awesome man! I wish you were here in the US, I don't own a Dual Rec currently but I might just go buy one to have you do this mod on it! Always loved the Dual Rec controls setup and the flexibility they have but preferred the Mark series amps overall since they are tight without having to use a boost. This amp just sounds monstrous!

@@admgloval thank you! I ship to the US all the time so that’s not a problem. I usually arrange shipping both ways if the customer already have an amp. Otherwise it’s sometimes possible to buy amps within Europe (reverb.com) and have them shipped directly to my workshop for rebuild. If it’s an export version Mesa most models can be wired for both EU and US power so I can wire the amp for US power before I send it.

Sounds like my triple non multi watt with a fortin 33 but less piercing. I have a dirty tree that to me sounds nothing like the OG 33. I’m curious the cost of this mod.

1.) I install the Hermansson 4 gain stages circuit regardless of rectifier version. 2.) Better internal layout in the 2 channel versions and they also have room for my tightness control which gives you more a more versatile amp, different transformers as well. 3.) Yes!

@@HermanssonAmplification So it’s worth it to track down a 2 channel Recto? Also, dude! Do you have a mailing/waiting list for your amp when it comes out? If it’s “like” the Mesa mods you do and as tight as you seem to magically get them then I’ll happily buy one. I love the mods you do. I use a Fortin 33 or Dirty Tree to get my 3 channel triple recto to get it to sound the way I like and close to as tight and close to the attack I want but your mods just seem to absolutely slay. I can’t wait to grab one.
