As someone who has recently started their first corporate job, I cannot understate the need for a nice office. I have seen a few different offices and it just makes you feel so nice when you step into a space that is nice to look at and comfortable to work in. The whole "spending the entire budget on the meeting room" reminds me of the one time I visited the Stuhr Museum of the Prairie Pioneer, in Grand Island, Nebraska, with my family while camping. What we found there was an incredibly majestic entrance building with immaculate lawns, echoing halls, fountains, a lake, and the like, but the actual living-history museum part was rather lackluster. It seems they'd gotten a whole bunch of donations to build a new entrance and maybe also sunk part of their own funds into it, forgetting the real purpose of the place.
