Hermitcraft 9 Episode 8: Massive Base Expansion!

Hermitcraft season 9 episode 8! We start out big with our Minecraft let's play ep 8 on the Hermitcraft 9 server with a massive starter treehouse base. The design of the survival base will be elven-themed. Once we complete the treehouse, I'll build my dream Minecraft build.
Today's episode starts out finding Grian trying to compete with our diamond monolith. We buy some shears from Pearl and complete the Hermitcraft Easter Egg Hunt by finding the hidden eggs in my starter base treehouse. For the build today we start the cookie empire by building massive dead tree surrounding the cookie factory. In the next episode, we open our first shop in Hermitcraft season 9. I'd call the ship simply the *"Good Tides".* It has the G for Grian, the T for Tango, but most resemblance with it's builder and the Good Times he brings.

Scar, when 1.19 drops, you could totally use the new roots as a sort of "dead leaves" to sort of show the tree dying due to the pollution from the smoke stacks

You can call the ship 'The Emeralda'. Inspired by a real cargo ship called 'The Esmeralda'. Because of the Emerald theme I think it would be a good fit.

Maybe instead of a dead tree, make it an autumn tree with a lil bit of orange/yellow leaves? I think it fits with the cookie theme which is golden brown. And i think it would match with the smoke. And the colors would feel very homey and warm vibes, which i association with home baked cookies.

I absolutely LOVE this build! I'm loving the dead tree with the cookie hanging from it and the smokestack coming out! It's one of my favorites of this season so far. I say definitely keep it as a dead tree!!

I feel it would make sense for the tree to be dead, there’s literally smoke and a large metal pipe running through the center of the tree, which mainly supports it’s life, and would also make sense why it was leaning.

Fun fact about trees! The center is usually dead since it grows outward in rings. All the life and nutrients travel in the outer rings. That’s why you’ll see a bunch of totally healthy, hollow trees. That being said, I agree with you how the dead tree would be cooler. Just love teaching about nature 💜

For the tree you should do both. In Bonsai there is a popular styling using Jin, Shari and Uro which make sections of the tree look stripped or dead. I think it would be incredibly unique from a Minecraft build perspective and you meet in the middle for the fans.

Only issue is he is an elf. In most Mythologies that I’m aware of the elven race/fairies (depending on the lore) are very much all about nature and life.

I thought of a good lore for the tree. The elves found the tree and began using it to craft their cookies, but the elves got greedy. They started taking too much of the tree, slowly killing it. Now the only way for them to get their cookies is by harvesting the cookie mushrooms that grow from the once great tree. (Mushroom idea from another comment)

personally, i absolutely love the dead tree! its like the smoke from the cookie factory killed it off and the branches are all that remain. adds a kinda nice lore and story to it all :) plus your expert tree building adds!

Hey Scar, an idea for the Cookie Empire tree. Now, I personally like the idea of the dead tree, but if you wanted to give some sort of "life" to it you could add large mushrooms to it. And, maybe you could call them "Cookieshrooms" which are mined for the cookies that the factory produces.

Agreed, it feels like an interesting perspective on industrialization that is almost corrupting the nature of the elves, and thus killing the tree. But the build is still nature-based and green which that shows the elves haven't forgotten their roots.

The dead tree is so cool, the lucious elf factory polluting the area for cookies- I think thats a really interesting way to incorporate organics into your mechanical style and i hope you do more of it!

For the boat's name: The Emerald Scagrita (Scar-Grian-Tango). As for the tree you could have it a magical tree. The more the Hermits buy, the more life-power the tree gains, the more leaves it grows.

honestly, the tree+building looks like a mother log (a fallen log that's covered in moss and actually growing a new tree sometimes!) with a dead tree leaning over! if you do go with a dead tree, maybe some areas with planks for decaying, splintering wood or rotten patches with darker woods? as it is, it looks kind of in between dead and alive. but whatever you end up going with will be amazing!
