Yes, I think so too - although I wonder if you've seen the Herod in the original, 1973 movie!? There's a lot more physicality and energy in this rendition, and that keeps it interesting!

I have to confess, I am an obsessed fan of Superstar as well as Andrew Lloyd Weber, Tim Rice, and on and on and on!! pehton quirante is the singer's name, he is from the philippines, but this production is at the summer musical festivals in amstetten (austria)

I vacillated between like and dislike, and landed on the side of like. I really think this is a fun interpretation of what is arguably the best number in JCS. Though in my head, Herod is Elvis, not Richard Simmons (showing my age here).

Absolute best version I've ever seen or heard. The timing and singing are so bad in all the others. That includes the original album, film versions, etc. Though I do understand the timing thing to an extent; the lyrics were kind of crammed in to fit the music. It's a rather awkward song to sing, I think.

Woooooooooow The guy is so amazing!! I was herod in the play of my high school and I was pretty proud of myself but after seeing this I feel so inferior xDDD But what I love about this heroid is that he has a lot of energy, grat singing skills and he exagerates perfectly If I could I would marry him!!!

It's been done before, and more than once. Every community theater and high school production I've ever heard of used a female Judas, and the one I saw turned out great. (And by the way, the character is named "Judas," not "Judus.")
