@@crystalwings4520 Funny thing about The Last Of Us, the remaster of part 2 came out on the same day as Palworld and no one seemed to notice because we were all playing and talking about Palworld instead. That's probably why the Naughty Dog employees were trashing Palworld.

@@NuchiAsaki There's that time when Neil attended some sort of award, then no flash of cameras. Many pointed out how he's trying to get Hollywood attention so bad, he treated TLOU as it's some sort of glorified movie. All while ND kept re-releasing the games, including the second one, as their cash cow. I used to like the first one, but then I hated the franchise as a whole the moment the second game made such horrible story and it rigged the whole game awards.

Except they aren't an indie company, is a AA one. It's not a big company but it's not indie either. I really wish Palworld's models weren't carboncopy of pokémon, but it feels like we're between a rock and a hard place. On one hand, Palworld did stole assets from another company, assets who have 10 years at most btw. On the other it's not a mock up but a genuinely good game who's covering a massive, real demand in the market. I wouldn't make it a deal if at least one wasn't a japanese company, but both are and Palworld is, by japanese ruling where modding is not legal, indeed breaking the law.

She got out an old gaming laptop from 3 years ago that my younger brother left behind when he went to college and she got me and him to help her get it all set up with a new Steam account and everything AND SHE'S BEEN PLAYING IT FOR 3 DAYS ALMOST NON STOP! The game lets you customize every aspect of the game world. This alone makes it appealing to an extremely broad demographic. Bad at survival games? Turn off hunger. Don't want to see Pals sad? Turn off sanity depletion. Don't want rng? Crank up catch rate. Too grindy? Turn up exp and drop rates. Want a challenge? Turn down player's damage and turn up enemy's damage. Want longer daytime and shorter nighttime? Game got you covered. AAA games sell you booster packs while Palworld puts them in sliders during Early Access. Its success with gamers is a foregone conclusion at this point.

That title would fit for any CoD or almost any modern AAA game lately. I have nothing against cosmetic DLC and/or map packs, but having to get map packs, passes, AND boxes for core items such as characters and weapons is absurd. At least it is not as bad as what Maple Story did to their players.

Fined them almost $9Mil. And this was the second time they were caught, they had another game that was also fined.

I'm 50 and never got into the Pokemon craze, I didn't understand the lure... it just wasn't for me. 30 hours into this game and I'm loving it. The collecting, the base building, the crafting, the exploration, beating dungeon bosses and world bosses and capturing them to make them work at my sweat shop of a base for nothing but berries that they grow, water and harvest! Sooo good.

was never going to look this game up i thought it was a revamped version of Pokemon but after watching this clip aso reading ur comment and the 1s underneath it sounds interesting now im going to go watch some clips on the game see more on it base building, the crafting, the exploration, beating dungeon bosses and world bosses sounds kick ass hopefully its at least 1/2 as good as it sounds

True, but it's also possible to enjoy Pokemon games as they are while ALSO asking them to make the next ones better. Like, Scarlet and Violet would be a massive success if the technical performance wasn't so bad, and yet they're still quite fun to play in spite of that. It's just that they're like a 7.5-8/10 when they could be a 10/10 if they ran well.

I'm so glad this game is doing well, I watched the trailers 3 years ago, and what started as just made as a parody and been watching as it became more and more a real thing. Back then, the views only really got into the 5 digits so I was a bit worried how it would be received and seeing it reach 8million players in one week has just been insane to see.

(Mostly featuring a new writer self-insert character mocking a beloved one from the prequel) No need to worry about the sequel after that, they'll cancel it or even shut down the whole studio due to low sales, the fans are to blame for that! (It says so in these dozens of articles the game studio used a chunk of their budget on paying journos, alongside the paid reviewers)

I grew up with the first 3 or 4 generations of Pokemon. And I'm actually glad Palworld exists. If there's anything the Pokemon franchise has been lacking for the last decade, it's REAL competition. And if we're lucky, Palworld's success might convince Gamefreak to step up their game for the next Pokemon installment.

Here's a fun glitch for Pal World. If you climb up on a sphere while it's doing the shakes, when it's done it'll launch you straight into the sky. Remember to have a glider equiped for a safe landing. I didn't discover it myself. The first person I've seen doing it was Biboo from Hololive (although she didn't have a glider).

Even if somehow that were to be true (I know it's not, of course), and Palworld's low price tag is just some sort of eeeeeevil plot to brainwash fools into buying the game, then I will happily become a "mark" and also hope that many other companies (ANY sort of company, not just gaming companies) become this evil and so the same. If enough companies do this, I would happily accept them evilly cackling at me while my wallet literally bursts from being unable to hold all that money I'd save. Please, no, don't lower prices any further, it's such a pain having to carry all that money around!

People are being a tool for lashing out at PalWorld when Nintendo has yet to do anything to the dev themselves and those that go around saying Pokemon is dead, spamming in comments for people to switch to PalWorld, etc. Playing the games definitely don't make you a tool. Getting into childish fights and arguments when these big corpos don't even acknowledge your existence make you one.

I've genuinely been having a ton of fun with PW. Like, being able to do goofy stuff with your pals, slaughtering others, and roaming the world is all extremely enjoyable. Not to mention the fact that I can enjoy this experience with my friends for half the price of a Pokémon game (not even including Switch Online in that total). No microtransactions: great! Minimal graphic bugs: amazing! An affordable price: A godsend to a college student! And the game's only getting bigger from here! I'm not singing its praises because I hate Pokémon or whatever bizarre reasoning. Fun games are just fun! 👍✨

While I have certainly experienced an odd bug or two, and some Early Access jank, it's not at all surprising given the EA status, for one thing, and secondly, those bugs are infrequent and haven't broken my game yet, which is crazy when you realize $70 AAA games that are supposedly finished have way more bugs and unpolished gameplay than Palworld. Like, it straight up feels like a complete experience and it's apparently only 60% completed. Really says a lot about corporate greed doesn't it? They don't even try anymore.

@@santosic Amen to that, partner. They just don’t _need_ to try anymore, the name always does most of the work now. Worst part is some companies plan on raising the price nearing 100$ by 2035, I think? Need to fact check, but factoring inflation (and people’s willingness to pay it) it makes sense. I don’t think I’ll ever understand why people would want to pay more for things they had at cheaper prices.

yeah a few of the pals can be equipped with weapons. basically most pals have a 'pal gear' item, most of the time its a harness used to ride them as a mount, for some pals its a weapon, for others its equipment that gives them a special attack or something. you only need to craft one, which becomes a passive key item, like you make one direhowl (wolf) harness and you unlock the ability to ride all direhowls forever. very forgiving, you dont need a new harness for each version, and you never worry about losing it if you die or something. but yeah some of the pal gear is weapons, which unlock a new ability where the pall pulls out the weapon and you get to fire off a certain number of rounds before the ability goes on cooldown. i believe the rocket launcher is Mossanda.

Currently obsessed with this game, it’s the first game that I’ve been addicted to in forever. It’s very hard for me to enjoy games or play them for long recently so palworld has been so fun for me and a breath of fresh air.

I have no dislike for Palworld, but I'm holding off since I looked at the trailer, and immediately identified which NOT!pokemon each creature was by name and went: "Nintendo is going to go ape**** over this. I'll see how this plays out." As for the urinalists... It's the usual: 'The plebes are having fun without OUR permission again!"

Nintendo was made aware of this months ago and even sent a cease and desist, to which the devs responded by changing enough of it to no longer count as copyrighted. Nintendo can't do shit.
