Thanks you so much. You have made me both happy and sad. I am in my 70's and am afraid that I am too old to be able to see the results of my efforts if I begin my bonsai journey at this age. I can only hope that one of my children or grandchildren would continue to care for any trees that I start working on. Who knows? Maybe I will live to be 100! Thanks again for your patience and excellent descriptions of your work.

Thank you so much! I just picked out a little spruce tree from my work (which we wouldnt be able to sell, so we got to take one home if we wanted), and I wanted to look up some care tips and maybe tips on how to shape it without damaging it. Well i was pleasantly surprised when you picked 2 spruce cuttings that were the same ones as i got, and showed how much fun you can have with them. I intend to keep mine quite straight, because its trunk is already a good 1 centimeter thick and quite stiff. But i might pick up some more when they're being sold at a discount, or when i see them being thrown out after the holidays. This video just puts a smile on my face. When getting into researching bonsai you quickly stumble upon people who have all these exotic species, and make it seem like you need to already have this vast knowledge before even getting started. But this is incredibly intimidating if you just start out. However this video really tells you to just go out and get one, especially if you get a resiliant plant like these spruce, it's almost hard to mess it up. I'll definitely be getting back into bonsai, thank you once again!

"if it works, i can do a lot more videos.." it works, let's go :D can you make some videos of for example the next step of this tree/already initial styled ones? most videos on youtube are first/initial styling or a masterpiece after 40 years of training, the first 1-7 years are rarely documented. but the these are the most interesting years in my opinion. cheers

There are so many “experts” out there, with too many rules, dos and don’ts , making it so hard for others to understand this form of art. I started with a one day speedy course... then I found your tutorials and now I have a forest, a big penjing and a beautiful single Chinese Elm ... I just observe how trees behave in nature and try to mimic it... Easy and commun sense... Thank you 🙏 you are a treasure in the world of bonsai 🤗
