Each part of your many videos is interesting . . . why, because we also get to hear your reasoning of why you are doing what you are doing as you perform each step . . . so, please don't think for a moment that we are bored as the proof is that is: we keep watching and encouraging you by listening, watching, and learning! Thank you, Sir! It is amazing that as you start to show just a few of your projects . . . how many things you have to keep you busy, vital, and productive . . . it is fascinating as well as inspirational that it is more and more evident that the Lord has given these projects to not only help other people . . . but to motivate you to get out of bed each morning and be productive, inspirational, and encouraging to others, who watch your many video projects . . . thank you , especially in these troubled end times . . . long may you prosper and be blessed by our matchless God!

Peter, thanks for these update videos, it is reassuring to see the success. The first larch turned out beautifully. My Japanese larches are taking our summer heat here without any problems but they are used to occasional 30 degree temps. Of course our mountain nights dip down enough to compensate plus I keep them in part shade so they only get morning sun then shade after noon.
@youngwillie9502

Hello Mr. Chan! The summer sun is leaning on our heads but we persevere. We here have been above 100°F for over a months time. Any real rains have said a fond farewell to our area. I am seeing large old trees completely dead in places but I don't despair. This is the way of things. I still have my garden hose and my bonsai are more prolific than a tanuki's wedding tackle. I have cuttings exploding in growth. As long as they get a regular drink they love the heat. Despite trials we carry on. Glad to see you well and your channel spreading widely. Before long the autumn will roll upon us and we'll say "Where did the summer go?" Take care Mr. Chan and crew. Blessings.

Nice to see the progress on those projects! I also found that larches tend to set very quick, if I see the wire bite in I remove it, and most of the time the branches stay the way or at least close to the desired shape. Will that root fabric be able to come out that field maple?

I have a question for creating a bonsai. If I were to get a tree from the store (normal maple or cherry trre, not bonsai, in a bigish pot and about 3-5 feet tall) and cut it down to ~1 foot or maybe 30 cm and put it in a reasonable bonsai pot, would it take?

You've got to do it gradually and you need some experience too. Are you a good gardener ? If Yes - the have a go.
@luigiluigi2098
@luigiluigi2098 Жыл бұрын
If now - then I'd start by cutting the height down, later in the early spring tackle the roots and put it in a Bonsai pot, then just let it recover before doing the harder work following year. I'm not skilled but created a few this way. The skill is in making the right choices later. Maple Trees don't die easily. Go for it!!

To be completely honest.... I bet you could have bent the larch without cutting it in half.. I used raffia and bent a fairly large amount 12/16th of an inch or about 2 Centimeters or so thick into almost an knot.. I soaked the raffia for two hours and used your method of lining the trunk with copper and laying copper over the raffia in the conventional way by twisting around the trunk.. mind you I have to use a monkey wrench and one of other people to achieve my goal.
