No, it is almost as if he is making up some of the story and is just using BS to get through the interview. For all that to be true, that means we are talking about SF teams willing to lie and make Pakistan not look like the terrorists they potentially are/were. We could have then had a pretense to sanction a Pakistan and bomb the crap out of them to find the rest of Al Qaeda beyond Bin Laden. Also, we would want Bin Laden alive because we could catch more terrorists with him alive potentially. But that also makes it look like the SF teams were somehow incapable of doing a job as well. We lost a helicopter and risked a lot of SF over a supposedly joint effort with Pakistan. The only thing people should be concerned as maybe being help from Pakistan is the blackout, which Hersh is oddly not addressing here. Why would Pakistan order the blackout and then not use any of their military to help with the mission?

This is the biggest story of US history in the social media era. So, it is reasonable to expect us to not just trust unarmed sources or sources that weren’t independently verified by people outside of Hersh’s inner circle. Why would we help the country that hid Bin Laden intentionally and cost our military and taxpayer’s billions of dollars? No, we would get our guy and then sanction Pakistan if we had advanced knowledge about him specifically outside of a highly educated guess.

But Hersh is calling this a hit, not a capture. He is accusing SF of being hit men, which is not their job unless necessary. Many SF are meant to infiltrate and collect intelligence, not just kill. We train them in espionage for that reason. To say they were there as hit men means you paid hundreds of millions almost almost to do a job that should cost a few million at most. We obviously did not trust Pakistan because he was there and they said nothing until we figured out he was there. Why trust Pakistan to cooperate after they had all that time to come to us and offer Bin Laden in exchange for military aid and economic aid?

Maybe divide the media into categories, factual, opinion based, and speculative. Factual sources just release the facts (“yes, this happened, no this didn’t happen”). Opinion based media sources like CNN and Fox may also release facts but they can continue to add their journalists and companies two cents so long as a discretionary warning is displayed 3 times per so many hours of content, that way we can distinguish what could be considered political, ideological propaganda. And speculative sources would release the investigative materials, hard hitting stories, offering possibilities based on gathered evidence and first hand accounts etc.

I actually just looked this up the other day before I saw this video. Everything I find online claims that SEALS 6 had over a hundred members in it. They say the ones involved in the raid were not in the helicopter. It's wierd thou, I remember when it happened that they told us all that the SEALS that were responsible for killing OBL were the ones.on the helicopter and that's why it was such crazy news ! But I'm tellin ya, I can't find anything anymore saying they were there. Everything says now that the ones who died were not part of the OBL raid.
