+Zacchary Townsend TV news gives us good reasons to be cynical about the media. Neither CNN or FOX are particularly admirable, but CNN does not have a political agenda does not coordinate a political message with politicians and does not fabricate issues or selectively report the news to support their bias. While CNN may be a bit stupid and boring Fox has biased political intentions and an agenda.

Government: "Seal team 6, but all the people from the Bin Laden mission died shortly after in a shot down helicopter in Afghanistan" The People: "Uh, so who can verify this event then?" Government: "Here is one guy Robert O'Neil who didn't die in that Afghan helicopter crash and you have to believe him because he wrote a book about it that we would never let him write to try to uphold our story of the Bin Laden raid so you can surely trust what he says!"

***** Not paranoid. Just realistic. If you choose to blindly follow anyone I mentioned....well more power to you, amigo. Forgive me if I don't fall in line with you. But don't mistake that for paranoia.
@mediumrick76678 жыл бұрын
***** I commented on the ONE Navy SEAL who grossly violated the ethos and core values of his organization for his own personal gain. I made no mention of the other SEALs present. And not all of those other members have corroborated his account. So I find it entirely reasonable to question O'Neill's story. As far as "reviewing the evidence" - you and I have no idea what the actual "evidence" is, we only know what we've been told. History has shown us that our government is not always truthful when it comes to sharing facts and evidence. Those looking to sell books or to gain fame have been known to misrepresent the truth as well. So I don't automatically accept everything I'm told at face value. Especially not from those who have a history of mistruths, or those who have motivations for personal gain. There are many good, decent, honest people in this world. Unfortunately there are many dishonest ones as well. Acknowledging this reality is just healthy skepticism, not paranoia.
@mediumrick76678 жыл бұрын
***** I never said the raid didn't happen or Bin Laden wasn't killed. So maybe you shouldn't jump to conclusions. That aside, we were supposedly in and out of the Bin Laden compound in 40 minutes. No one was left behind to investigate and process evidence. The official first-hand accounts from the SEALs have been filtered and released through our government. So whose word are relying on regarding evidence left behind, the Pakistanis?
@mediumrick76678 жыл бұрын
***** It's funny that you ask me for a point when your first comment here was nothing more than a personal attack and lacked any practical content whatsoever. Perhaps you should be asking yourself the same question. I made my point in my original comment. You obviously have greater faith in what your told and what you read than I do. Like I said, more power to you. But your faith doesn't automatically mean that others who don't share it suffer from paranoia. My opinions have developed over a long period of time and have been supported by both historical facts and my own personal experiences. As far as No Easy Day, I have read many books on military operations but I haven't read that yet. I will read it though. But I'm always mindful of a couple of things. First, that authors will often embellish, or sometimes outright lie to help sell their books. Second, the government will occasionally misrepresent the facts of an event in an attempt to manipulate public opinion. To ignore these obvious realities would be foolish IMO.

Everything from the compound being raided, to the number of soldiers on the ground, to the crashed chopper, to the woman that was apparently used as a human shield, to the fucking floor you had to get to in order to find Castro hiding in a bedroom! Predictive programming! They had this story ready to go long before Obama announced his death, because its virtually the exact same! Why else did people automatically believe it? A walk-in and not a fire fight. I doubt that Bin Laden was as cooperative as the Pakistani General. They, the Pakistanis, feared his capture would allow information (from the SAUDI about who supported him earlier financially) to get out. Mmm? Did the Pakistanis say. "Please shoot him and do not capture and interrogate him". Very strange! There was "ground fire" Hersh said. Why make all that noise when he was "under arrest". All they had to do was hand him very quietly with no fuss. I can believe the Pakistani General told them where to go to get him. I can understand why the Whitehouse missed that bit out....if they did. The story about being buried at sea was raised and left hanging. I liked that bit. This interview left my curiosity unsatisfied. Much about the Seymour Hersh' account is also questionable and already mentioned above. I am surprised the Republicans did not say Bin LADEN took the bus to Washington and was hit by another bus on his way to the Whitehouse. Anyway I think he's dead and no longer a menace and I really don't care how he died. The rest is just noise and just politics.
