I have made this cake for years and it is delicious! 😋 I started out using the cake mix, then I switched to the chocolate cake recipe on the back of Hershey's Cocoa Power and that took it up to the next level! I also pulse my chocolate bars (right out of the refrigerator) in my food processor. Once the icing is made I let it set up in the refrigerator before icing my cake. And finally I add chocolate crumbs to the top and sides of the cake. ❤

I love this cake. I prefer extra small chunks of Hershey bar. They have a small crunch but then instantly melt in your mouth. This is my most favorite cake.

Someone shared this long ago with me , don’t know what it does? Mix wet ingredients, especially the eggs and oil. It does seem to not look separated after doing that. One other thing,cakes and bread usually call for 350 I always do 325. One thing that I do know for breads(banana or zucchini)how it will get a little too brown inside edges before it is done. At 325 it does not do that. Fyi

Leslie, FYI.....if U take kinda wide strips (4) of your wax paper & put around your cake’s 4 sides, just under the edges of the cake, then your drips of icing will fall on the wax paper. Them you just pull out the wax paper and your cardboard and/or cake plate is clean. Hope this helps. The cake looks fantastic.

I think Cool Whip/ whipped cream is suppose to be folded into the frosting. Something ab not beating the air out of it. Beautiful cake.

Lastly I don’t know if you think the way I think or not but when you start making dessert for Christmas especially the ones you have to spoon out onto wax paper or parchment paper I honestly think that somehow rather the ingredients in the pot is making babies it don’t seem like we ever get to the end of the mixture. Lol

teMy Mom had pans like that. I also lick the spatula. Always have , always will. How can you cook without an apron ? I always make miess of myself ! This cakeis right up my alley ! I have my plate & fork ready ! I have a kitchen side and it also does not get the bottom good enough. My Daughter in law loves chocolate cake with white icing she will love this.. You might put your icing in a bag with a large tip? Much faster and less crumb when that’s an issue. BTW, I love all your videos as they bring realism and happiness to my heart.

Look at your instruction manual. There is an adjustment in all the mixers that I have ever seen that lowers it to reach the bottom of the bowl.

Wish I could find those pans. My grandma had them. When she died I wasn’t here and they tossed them in the trash. 😢
