In this video we'll be covering the story of Rebecca Chambers, The once Rookie Officer of the Raccoon City Police Departments Stars Bravo Team. Which She like her fellow comrades would have to deal with the many monsters and zombies due to the T Virus created by the Umbrella Corporation. We also cover Rebecca's role in resident evil 0, resident evil 1 from 1996, Resident evil Remake, her life after she escapes the spencer mansion incident, her life after Raccoon City, and all the way to the Resident Evil Movie RE vendetta.
We Also cover her original concept design as a Character, what importance she had for this series, and what famous godfather of survival horror, Shinji Mikami, had to say about Rebecca.

She's right next to Claire in my top 3, so very important for curing and treating the many offshoots of the Progenitor virus. However, with the direction bioweapons have been taking since re7, I don't know how much more relevant her expertise is...but considering how smart she is, I wouldn't be surprised if she's been studying and keeping up with the parasites and such that have been the focus of the baddies plans lately.

Ah Rebecca, sole survivor of Bravo Team, single-handedly defeated the Proto-Tyrant, survived two zombie-infested mansions back to back, and then she just... vanished. She's definitely a forgotten character, after RE 0 I felt like she deserved more credit. She's like the combination of Chris Redfield and Leon Kennedy, a rookie who I assume is on her first mission, surviving the impossible, full of promise and talent. Highly underrated, it's a damn shame too.

There's nothing weak about her to me. She survived horrors that killed the majority of people hell I got a bunch of private and military training and I don't think I could of survived what she did.

I can understand where Shinji Mikami is coming from regarding Rebecca, but we can't forget that she's 18 and just out of college. She hasn't had any time to mature. Honestly, I think the Mansion Incident was one of the things that let her grow up fast and realize what she was cut out for and what she wasn't. She's no Jill or Ada, no doubt, but she was strong and independent in her own way. I mean, she DID try and arrest Billy, who she thought was a convicted murder WITH military training. And she tried it on her own. She also tried to lay down some ground rules regarding how they were going to work together, initially. Successful or not that's pretty impressive for an 18 year old rookie and is certainly a ways away from being "submissive" and "dependent". And most importantly, it's extremely brave.

And then suddenly in RE1 she's suddenly submissive and dependent. Capcom really dropped the ball creating that plot hole. The girl took on a bunch of monsters, including multiple hunters and solo'd a tyrant, yet RE1 has her cowering in fear at just one hunter and needs Chris's help with shit 🤦🏾‍♂️

@@acecashman1237 keep in mind that RE1 was made first and the plot of RE0 hadn't even been a thing. A fair argument as to why she became more passive was the fact she came to a second estate where her team was all but dead on her arrival and she only found out about her captain when she and Chris confronted Wesker. A combination of grief, survivors guilt and exhaustion while the hungry predators that stalked her were relentless: are you surprised that an 18 year old girl would break? She was lucky to get out with Billy alive in the first place.

It's funny, I never take Rebecca as being "weak" or submissive. Yeah, she's inexperienced, and that does mean that she needs help from people who have more combat experience, but she survives two incidents side by side, takes on a tyrant by herself, keeps a cool head despite being the most untrained of the STARS and even years later, when she's had a cushy lab job, she is able to keep herself alive when another outbreak occurs.. I know, compared to Chris, or Jill, Leon or Ada, she's looks small. But I don't think that diminishes her accomplishments that she's just as much a survivor as they are and I think, if she hadn't been hated by her own creator and actually came back for more games, she would have proven her abilities.

i completley agree! i had no idea people thought of her as a weak character. my first intro to her was in resident evil 0 because i played jill in the first game. her in 0 was amazing sure she needed help from billy at time but billy needed help from her too! resident evil is a game where the two main protags work together to survive. i think she may appear helpless at times in the first game but thats really capcoms fault for making her that way in the beginning, but then later they redeemed her in 0

I dont think being small has anything to do with her weakness,Ada may be taller but she is skinny af and always wearing heals,if Ada is stronger than Rebecca that is just because the writter decided to make it like that and that is all. Sherry Birking probably have a similar body type and they made her way stronger

I think she's a cool character to be fair. I liked how she and Billy interacted and I like the fact she wasn't a tank like Chris or Leon and she was really up against it.

@@XXXKaruXXX It's more like the RE franchise has gotten pretty used to superhuman protagonists doing superhuman feats. By comparison, Rebecca's feats are way more grounded. She doesn't have the inhuman athleticism or acrobatics that characters like Ada and Krauser can pull off. But her being so grounded is part of her appeal. I wish they'd remake a game with her in it.

That's what makes Leon such a beloved character. Even though he's a little older than Rebecca; we see his growth from Raccoon City to today. A rookie cop that was late to his first day, thrown into a living hell hole against impossible odds. And becomes a nigh legendary agent that plunges into various horrors to both uncover the truth and save those he can. Dedicated to his missions and flawed all the same.

As a veteran RE player, I can honestly say, B grade Jill was pretty amazing. I didn't like her at first because of how she was displayed in RE1 but the re-do to her personality in RE0 certainly made her more likeable imo. I would really enjoy seeing her come back in some form.

I hate her being misconstrued as weak and submissive. Literally the only time I remember her “submitting” to anyone or anything was when Centurion incapacitated her. Spoilers, but Rebecca had to brave those awful monkey bow’s and a tyrant all by herself, what about that says weak? Regardless, her creators disliking her for how she’s characterized is like a chef deciding not to add seasoning to a dish and then criticizing it for not having any flavor. Those “shortcomings” are well within their control, they very well could have fixed it. It’s just so stupid and frustrating Also imo, Chris is more of a damsel in distress than Rebecca ever has been

Rebecca is an awesome character that we needed and even though she has her flaws, she's important to the story and we've definitely seen that importance in Vendetta and some mentions of her in files! 😊 My only critique of RE0 is how poorly they connected Rebecca from 0 to 1 but in all, still awesome!

Honestly while having badass characters like Chris and Jill are great, we shouldn't forget newbie squishes like Ethan and Leon in his first appearance. Rebecca actually handled herself way better than a lot of other, apparently more trained, individuals, and her work in vaccines and cures will be a great asset in the fight against Umbrella's legacy. So yeah, I hope we see more of her in the future.

What I like to believe what happen after zero and 1 is that rebecca's was able to make it to the mansion but was low on supplies including ammo and was beginning to feel hopeless cuz once she made it in the mansion she soon realize that this place was also infect by zombies and monster and wasn't expecting anybody to come and let alone save her since for one her whole team died and no one wouldnt even known where she was or know where to look to find her... that's why she a different person from zero to 1...

I like Rebecca chambers she's a sweet honest girl . But in the end I feel her pain after the nightmare she has to face with the t virus . Her bond with Chris is strong ever since but her friendship with Billy is a personal life for her although she don't trust him when she first meet him but their relationship as a team is strong they will always look out for each other . But in the movie vendetta I don't really like how she plays in that movie it's like she forget who she is I mean correct me if I'm wrong but she plays a little different in the movie vendetta

I still wanna know why Wesker had that picture of her in his desk because that couldn't be her resume for S.T.A.R.S. as well as what happened after Irons disassembled them after the train and mansion incident. As much as she wasn't a strong character as Mikami wanted, she plays an integral role in the series. I would put her in the top 10 given her knowledge and medical expertise in the viruses in the Resident Evil universe.

Aside from the great character break down and analysis, I like the humorous cuts in, such as the helicopter scene when she met Chris. Wow cheers for that in depth run down of Rebecca Chambers, I love how you do your vids because it really makes me think more of the character, oh a funny fact when I was at school in my younger days, I kid you not we had a Rebecca Chambers in our class and it always made me think of the game, she was never a gamer so when I explained it to her she finally understood, we became good friends after that, but lost contact after high school, I do think of her time to time and wonder if she's doing well, but yeah I knew a Rebecca Chambers at one stage, interesting hay! When Billy was retelling the massacre at the village, am I the only one who noticed that the M4 had the wrong stock on it. It had a SIG556 style stock, which wouldn't work on a M4 as the bolt would have no where to go into the SIG556 stock.

I'm pretty sad she doesn't pop up in the new games but at the same time, in a game where characters that you've grown to like end up dead or undead, she managed to live a life further from danger as much as a protagonist can be, while still fighting against the virus and evil organizations in a less direct role with her ex convict bad-boy boyfriend.

So I have a speculation, hear me out. I think we're going to see Rebecca in the next RE game following village. I'll bet that she is running the BSAA, she's figured out how to make sentient BOWs and in an effort to save more human lives she employs these BOWs to go into danger zones instead of the agents of Blue Umbrella. What do you think though? Also, I LOVED Marvin's face during the "root of the problem" joke, made my whole day!

I love your video on Rebecca Chambers Hey DeVuH, you did a real good job in explaining all the horrors she had to go though, she more than proved that she was worthy to be a S.T.A.R.S member, by surviving both the Umbrella Research Center and The Spencer Mansion, it's a shame she didn't get more video game time in the Resident Evil series, but we did see her again in the movie Resident Evil: Vendetta, where she helps both Leon and Chris save New York from Glenn Arias, a great CGI Resident Evil movie to watch in my opinion, thank you HeY DeVuH for giving Rebecca Chambers the credit she deserves, I hope we can see her in the Resident Evil series again someday ✊

I think she got much more love in the book series. I think she plus the RE Zero novelization there is also Caliban Cove which is a original story and she is the main character again and she is great in it. Even if Shinji Mikami didnt liked her that much, S.D. Perry sure did like her ^^

She is a underrated Character for sure, same as Billy. Capcom could have done more with those two Characters. Rebecca learned a lot from Billy as its her first Mission. And Billy got some great combat skills, its a shame they're wasted.

Hey! Just wanted to let you know I came up with an idea on what to do with Billy. Instead of having him appear in RE Zero at a duplicate Mansion. He could’ve been part of The Raccoon City incident instead! Him being locked in a Cell until the Outbreak (of course related to the games) where he is freed and helps the other survivors escape. I mean sure, there’s no interaction with Rebecca. But it’s obvious that the Police captain Marvin could set the prisoners loose sense the Zombies are already a Dead Sentence. I mean that would be a pretty cool change without having to include much of REzero interpretation of How Rebecca got to the Spencer Mansion.

Billy has Battle experience in both ways, as a Lieutenand and also from the outbreak at the Arklay mountains. As like you've said, he could be freed from jail due to the outbreak and help other survivors with his skills, whoa that would be amazing🥰👍

Honestly, Capcom should’ve done an animated movie based on the SD Perry Novel (RE Caliban Cove) where she had to seek information away from Raccoon, trying to find proof on Umbrellas’ BS after the events of the Mansion. It sucks we might never get that story.

Rebecca is honestly my favorite Resident Evil character in it's entirety, a major reason being because of just how much sheer potential she has as a character, even if I am fairly sad by the fact that potential is almost never acted upon. Rebecca in RE0 and Resident Evil Death Island just prove to me, personally, that she has a lot of potential to be shown as a pivotol character in terms of just how smart she is in her field(s), especially since despite the fact she was only 18 in RE0 and RE1, she had already graduated college and was known to be a prodigy in fields involving biology and chemistry. I really love underdog characters with immense potential, especially ones like Rebecca that despite their initial inexperience, are still helpful and/or smart against all odds.

Not many people know this but development for Resident Evil Zero began for the Nintendo 64 in 1998, development slowed when the team encountered memory storage problems, and so production was moved to the newly announced GameCube. The game had to be rebuilt, with only the concept and story carried over. You can also find footage of the 1998 RE zero gameplay on youtube

Out of all the RE characters I hear about Rebecca the least, in the original Resident Evil she kinda reminds me of Sherry. Oh so her being a character that's only been in RE1, RE0 and a film is why we don't see much of her. She may not be Jill, Ada, Sherry or Claire but she seems to be a decent character.

I am soooo glad that somebody said it for me. Rebecca IS a great character. Watching her grow and being so important to the lore is why I like her so much. Think about what would've happened if Rebecca never existed. A worldwide pandemic would've been the end of the world. So in a way, Rebecca is a HERO.

@5:57 -- I find it both hilarious, and entirely unlikely, that Chris and Rebecca-- both members of the most elite units in the RCPD --had not met before their first encounter in the Spencer Mansion. Even though they were assigned to different squads, I find it hard to believe that members of a unit as small as the S.T.A.R.S. team managed to never meet just because they were on the Alpha and Bravo units, respectively. Hell, Rebecca said she had recently moved to Raccoon City-- Leon was just a rookie patrolman, not part of an elite team, and the RCPD guys had set up a welcoming party (which was unfortunately cancelled by the Zombie-pocalypse...and we are supposed to believe that the newest member of S.T.A.R.S. didn't even get introduced to the rest of the unit-- let alone a party?!

Simple explanation: she was either Wesker's girlfriend or the object of his creepy obsessions(remember the film roll) and thus wanted to keep her interactions with other people especially Chris to a minimum.
