I have done the Heysham to Douglas crossing about 90 times over the last 40 years, and enjoyed every minute of it.

I remember winning the jackpot in the organised bingo on the way back to Heysham . All the winnings were in polyester Manx banknotes that I had to spend on board. Funny music and nice video.

Fabulous video. Have never sailed from Heysham, but next visit to I.o.M. will be from Heysham on the Ben-my-Chree. We went about 5 years ago on the Mannanan from Liverpool, but as we have sailed on one of the original Ben-my-Chree's in the 1950's, we would love to see her again. When we can go again after the latest Covid breakout we will be first in the queue! Beautiful island with many happy childhood memories.

I really enjoy watching your Marine videos Taking me on voyages to places I'm unlikely to visit for myself now. First and still favourite the Denmark-Iceland crossing via the Faeroes. Thank you for posting them This one recalls for me the trip I made with my team mates to Douglas from Liverpool Riverside (in the shadow of the Cunard and Liver Buildings) to ride in the Manx International Cycling Week in 1986. Then the ship was the IoMSP's famous "TS Mona's Isle". As John Smith remarks below, we had to wait to embark while she disgorged hordes of motorcycle racing enthusiasts and their machines from the previous week's TT races ("Ago'" vs Hailwood back in those days). Not a very successful visit for me, though I raced for London in an Inter-City Team Pursuit on the long defunct Onchan Stadium velodrome, but I was delayed by a crash at Ballacraine in the main event, the Junior International around the TT circuit itself. Enjoyed seeing a lot of the beautiful interior of the Isle during our training and recce rides during the week. After that, living in the South of England, it was sailings on the pre-Eurotunnel Cross Channel ferries to the French and Belgian ports to go to races in Europe. (I'm sure I've sailed aboard the "Wawel" featured in your cross - Baltic voyage to Gdansk, or her sister, when they were on the Channel under SeaFrance ownership). Have you considered a video of the Penzance - St Mary's sailings of the Isles of Scilly's "Scillonian III""? I sailed aboard her predecessor for family holidays in Scilly in the late 1950's. Two and threequarter hours' sailing out into the Atlantic. Have to warn you that the ship's nickname is "The Great White Stomach-Pump". It was often an ordeal to be undergone before an idyllic fortnight on these beautiful islands.

Went on this ferry when it hadn't long been in service "August 98" there was hardly any outside space then making it feel a bit claustrophobic but still had a great holiday and the weather was good too 😎

Another good trip across the sea. Before this, I had watched Ben-my-Chree in gale-force winds by concordskijr on his channel with the arrival at Douglas. Same ship, very different sea conditions shot from the shore. Happy Trails

Good video, the Isle of Man Ferries are packed and totally full when there is the Isle of Man TT the most insane and imho Best motorcycle race in the world. I bet that is the time when there are a lot of Special services from Ferries ... they all become packed with Motorbike enthusiasts ...

You want to watch these guys do this in the dark, in winter in a force 8 easterly gale, then they earn their money….the Ben is 24 this year, and still the most reliable all round vessel on the Irish Sea….97.8 % in 2021 , she is still the islands lifeline…..let’s hope the New ManxMan in 2023 can live up to her…..👍🇮🇲

1 of the most despised ships the steam pirate have had, unsuited to Irish sea conditions, had more money than you can imagine spent on it to get it half reasonable. Has done well but wont be missed when its gone and replaced. Hatefull thing.
