Notice how there was much less traffic on the roads back then years ago.

@@MythionVR That's right. Even back then there would have been far busier locations to film an instructional video, but it was easier to film where there was a lot less traffic to block the cameras view of the truck.

@@Icemanr85 I passed on 11th of May at second attempt somehow but regarding first attempt because everything till then was going to smooth so that when I failed my first exam I was devastated as fuck...suicidal thoughs pretty much and not looking toward life much. Now looking back I can say that amount of pressure I put on my self by paying for my self and wanting to pass first time etc completly dragged me down. My advice is to try to set yourself in a right mind, take documents with you and no matter what will happen during that test (and will happen as I experienced some crazy stuff) Do not give up but drive till you back end center and you hear "this is end of the exam" Sorry that I can not be more helpful than that.

@TRASHoftheTITANS7 жыл бұрын
Because you can't know for sure that someone is turning off the main road until they have committed to the manoeuvre. They could be signalling left because they've forgotten to turn it off, and you can't reliably tell from in front whether they're braking. On test therefore, I believe you'd be expected to wait until they actually turn their wheels before emerging.
@StabStabStabStabby5 жыл бұрын
Depends on the examiner. You could pull out in front of signalling traffic with some examiners but it would be an instant fail if they were signalling with no intention of turning and you made them slam on their brakes even with a lax examiner.
@mrcaboosevg60895 жыл бұрын
Certainly not, you're not supposed to pay attention to signals until it's clear they're turning off. Back in the day when this was made i do doubt they're as strict as they are now

I think this is one of the best formats to see regarding the view from the driving seat of a class 1. Now if shit bird cyclists don't understand how difficult it is to drive large vehicles and their blind spots they never will.

The voice in the video (that of Chris Goffey, formerly of BBC's Top Gear) is a familiar one. He has good advice for HGV drivers, although the video "General Knowledge for your CDL class "A" - Part 2 of 2" (available elsewhere on KZfaq) has good advice, too. The "General Knowledge..." video has potential US CDL theory test questions having to do with speed, and answers (e.g. leaving 1 second for every 10 feet of a bus or HGV's length, for speeds < 40 mph, adding 1 second to that for speeds of 40 mph or more, and that turning wide into the road in which a driver of an HGV or bus wants to go is better than using the road from which the same driver wants to turn).

This is good video fair play! Out out date now! But manufacturers have failed everyone, still far too many blind spots on the trucks and remember the DRIVER ALWAYS GETS THE BLAME, not pedestrians not cyclists, not Offfice staff. Truck drivers need to Look after number 1, if the road is unstable , unsuitable or unsafe then DON,T DELIVER simple.

You may cross the line if necessary, provided the road is clear, to pass a stationary vehicle, or overtake a pedal cycle, horse or road maintenance vehicle, if they are travelling at 10 mph (16 km/h) or less.
