I flew a relative of the HH-3... the SH-3H, in the late Cold War. We were Navy, and not called "Jolly Greens", but "Valkyries". Some older Vietnam era guys at the time still called us "Jolly Greens". For the longest time, I didn't know why. We later transitioned to the SH-60F. Nice to see the Air Force showing their pride with the HH-60W. Thanks for the tour!

Watched the walkaround of Mi-24 just before. It's amazing how different the design approaches can be to achieve the same, in general, goals - fly high and fast, protect crew and kill enemy. Though I hate the cold War, the bright side of it is keeping design schools of opposing sides from mixing up, so they stay in their pure, unique form. Black Hawk family is one of the most charismatic helicopters of nowadays

Thank you for the info, I have a special interest in Blackhawks in that I worked for Sikorsky back in the late 70's / 80's as a Manufacturing Engineer, I also was a Helicopter Mechanic in the Air Force and was stationed at Moody in the early 70's, along with my best friend Joe who was also a Helicopter mechanic & grew up in Connecticut and also worked at Sikorsky. Do you have any vanity USAF Helicopter plates? FYI after, in late 1972 they closed us down there so I ended up at USAF 3613 CCTC Water Survival School Thank you Captain for your tour.
