Hiatus: George the Self Esteem Cat

George and DOG are making an announcement for the Xingcat channel. We have been working hard on videos for the past three years or so, but we're feeling like we're in a little bit of a rut. Therefore, we're going to take a hiatus! A hiatus is a break designed to let you regroup, feel better about yourself, and come back refreshed and with some new ideas.
Expect the odd video or two here through the next few weeks or so, but our regular schedule is off until we come back with new shows, new characters, and a renewed sense of purpose.
See you soon! And remember: Be like cat. Be good to self.

Just now seeing this! I took a bit of a hiatus myself. Man...great words of wisdom. It's so true how we find ourselves in a rut and how it effects our creativity. I sure hope to see you back soon. Hard to believe it's been over 2 years since we've uploaded, but I'm sure you're making the best of this time.

It happens! Many don't realize how hard it is to keep up creativity, especially with unique and niche ideas like yours. I love the idea of a channel featuring a cast of puppets but even Sesame Street has a whole crew to help crank out the content! May a wave of inspiration wash over you soon 🤗💙

I injured my back. I rested. Now it's time to get mobile again! I can't think of anything creative while disruptions happen in life, but I can certainly recognize when life gets boring. So in a small way, I was asking for a reminder of why therapy is so important, maybe. You rest, and come back refreshed! Be like cat, be good to self!! I love everything you do on this channel!!

Everyone needs a break every once in a while. I think I was first introduced to your channel about a year ago and I don't think you ever missed a posting. I couldn't imagine keeping up with that kind of schedule.

I figured something was up when a new upload wasn't posted, its all good, avoid falling into the creative rutt do the things that make you happy. Its good getting a refresh start. Cant wait to see the new content.

Hey one puppet to... a cast bigger than the muppets, I would try meditation, it sounds cheesy but it's a good way to clear the brain, and get better ideas, there's this app that I use called simple habbit, it works really well and I've only used it for 3 days

Thank you so much! As George would say, meditation is good for self! Mostly, we needed the time to actually write out some longer scripts and do things that weren't, essentially, puppet-based improv. We hope to have a Halloween special up sometime this month!

@@xingcatI feel you I used to make 3 videos a week, and I ran into a rut, I think sometimes you just need other people, if it's editing or finalizing scripts or camera work other people can really help

We are lucky in that there are two of us here (my partner and I are both puppeteers and we both do things like make props...I build a lot of our original puppets and he does a lot of graphic design, as well). Mostly, it's been time...I also do theater, and am in the middle of acting in a show right now, so it's a good time to take some hours off.
