Here comes a random comment from a Taiwanese, and it's not legal for residents to have firearms here. I saw this gun first time in a shooting game, and I was like "is this gun some kind of outer-space technology shoots laser"? Yeah, that kind of TACTICAL.

@@joelalexander5338 The thing is lame AF to shoot in SA. The whole point of PDW's was to have ultra compact personal defense weapon, with the P90's tight grouping with Full Auto fire makes for a unique experience. And without that feature the PS90 is very underwhelming. As for self defense it'd probably be cheaper just to give your mugger your wallet then it is to mag dump.

Yep. He grew up without cell phones and video games, and thus learned the seemingly now lost art of communication by talking person to person. The shooting skill is also a long-standing tradition with young men in the South, which is why they did so well when called into service during the two great wars, and subsequent actions. A tradition now endangered by anti-gun Socialists (aka Democrats). The irrational fear of firearms being promoted by liberals in the US will soon have us at parity with the Netherlands when it comes to firearm restrictions. I'd say we are about 5 years behind, if the current trends continue.

FNP90, I used to think that all firearms of the same class were essentially the same thing, but after seeing all the ergonomic and revolutionary features this gun has it deserves it's own group. Have any of you experienced this problem? Every once in a while mine will fail to fire, after it warms up but that may be coincidence. When I eject the unfired round it has its bullet seated deeply into the case and I know it wasn't like that when I loaded it. The round will have a very light mark on the primer and I can eject it and just keep shooting no prob. Its happened maybe 20-30 times in the maybe 1800 -2000rds I've run through it. Not a huge deal to me just wondering if anyone else noticed that and can it be fixed. My best guess is the projectile is getting canted in the case when it flips around in the mag or being chambered? I can't remember 100% for sure if it ever happens with fn ammo or if it was only with federal. *edit only noticed this after owning it about a year. At about 1000 rds it started (I think)

+john panoulias It's hard to see the impact on the target when firing rifles. The recoil throws your aim off for a moment, which is plenty of time for the target to stop wobbling when it's such a sturdy one. He also had earplugs in, so audibly confirming the hit would be difficult. I'm not saying he's not humble, it can just be honestly difficult to tell.

Sorry for the almost necro reply but YES this thing is indeed deadly accurate. Got mine about 2ish weeks ago and HOLY cow does it hit dead on all day and twice on Sunday. I have a very nicely built AR-15 a nasty 308 rifle etc. etc. and none of them hit with the accuracy this thing does even up to 100 yards. I have shot a lot of guns out of the box and with very dialed in sights and this thing straight from the box was putting bullet after bullet within millimeters of each other if not dead on in the same spot at 50 yards out. Coolest damn gun I own and I own too many as the wife says. This will be a forever gun and I won't trade it for anything outside of an actual P90. Tis a pricey lady though as the current market in is struggling to keep things like the PS90 on the shelf. I couldn't recommend a gun more than the PS90. Get one and everyone around you will want it. It's the cool kid on the block.

Ruger needs to make a version of their 10/22 but chambered in FN 5.7mm. That would the ideal all-around multi-purpose plinking/home-defense/small game rifle especially if you could still use most of the zillions of 3rd party 10/22 accessories. If they could get it under the $500 mark, it would probably replace, or at least come close to their 10/22 as being the most popular rifle in America. If they offered it in a bull-pup configuration (and with a 30 round magazine) even better.

+wigon they should make it take p90 mags while there at it
@wigon
@wigon 8 жыл бұрын
Xtorin O'hern Honestly I'd prefer that they keep it on the 10/22 system in order to keep costs down. Otherwise it would end up having a P90 price tag on it. You don't get "Buck Rogers" guns without the bucks ($$$). That's why I'm an advocate of the theory" "If it works and it can be done inexpensively, don't change it". The main modifications would only need to be a slightly beefed up barrel and possibly receiver as well to handle the increased gas pressures reliably. The bolt and magazines as well would of course have to be modified a bit. But it shouldn't add too much more to the cost of the firearm. Ruger isn't a greedy company. They make quality firearms at a very reasonable price point.
@skyhop
@skyhop 8 жыл бұрын
+wigon FN isn't that greedy of a company either. They make quality firearms at a reasonable price point, we're just talking about military grade weapons and not range toy grade weapons. The 10/22 operating system couldn't handle a bottlenecked cartridge, much less something with this much pressure, go look at what happened to the 17HMR versions they attempted. Just buy yourself a savage A17 and be done with it.
@wigon
@wigon 8 жыл бұрын
I never said FN was greedy. As you said, they make a very complex mil-spec weapon that is NOT cheap to manufacture. So the price point for something like a P-90 is fairly accurate. As for the 17HMR round, it has always been a problematic round. As I said, the design would have to be reinforced but it should not be impossible for a skilled and experienced company like Ruger.
@skyhop
@skyhop 8 жыл бұрын
wigon Ruger isn't going to bother with it when savage has perfected a semi-automatic 17hmr that's very similar to their 10/22. As for the P90 being complex... No it really isn't, it's one of the more simple firearms on the market. It's just a straight blowback gun, no gas system, no crazy parts, nothing special internally. I wouldn't get overly excited about the terminal ballistics of the 5.7mm. It's still pretty much identical to an FMJ 9mm in terminal performance.

I want one now. Edit: I have edited this because of the mis info. Sorry about the 9mm speel I talked with him and I could have sworn he had it in 9mm. I was wrong, he said we shot an AR in the 9mm that same day and I got it mixed up. Anyways the P90 was still a delight.

This gun was designed for urban combat. Its standard ammo will penetrate most body armor in close combat. I love the design because it is lightweight, easy to keep clean, and accurate. One of the great things about the 5.7x28 is the bullet diameter is .224. How many .224 40 grain pills are out there plus it takes small rifle primers. This is a great gun out to 200 yards especially for someone who can't take the recoil of a larger cartridge. If you shop around the ammo can be found for $18 to $20 a box which isn't bad for a 50 round box.
@wigon
@wigon 8 жыл бұрын
+Jeremy Hurt Yup... the ammo has gone down quite a bit in price. I really hope that Kel-Tech makes a lower-priced 5.7mm bullpup and that other manufacturers like Ruger likewise make pistols and carbines in this caliber. Imagine this: A Ruger 10/22 but chambered in FN 5.7mm!!! That would be an absolute dream gun!

@@Zephyr01 Games tend to nerf it because of the 50 round magazine. All the other smgs have 30 rounds magazines, so the p90 would be broken compared. To compensate, they always make the p90 shoot peas and do little to no damage, even though it's ammunition is significantly more powerful (and accurate and rangy) than 9 mm. What adds insult to injury, in CS it has no armor penetration, whihc is doubly ridicolous because it's bullet has been designed specifically to penetrate armor better than 9 mm.

I was so curious to try one of these and had a brief go with one about 10yrs back. I was amazed how easy it was to shoot accurately. I don't know if I would own one due to the fairly insanely high price of the weapon and ammo, but I really loved it. Has so many design quirks that seem insane, but most of them are solutions that make it a bullpup with almost none of the traditional drawbacks.

It's 33 years old and still going strong with over 40 countries still using it in many roles. This year Smith and Wesson has already come out with their handgun version of this cartridge. Speer also is going to manufacture the 5.7x28 cartridge, so as more companies start making it, that should drive the price of the ammo down.
