How to replace the low beam passenger side HID Bulb on a 2010 Acura TSX. Also should work for 2009-2014 model years. The part number for the bulb is "D2S" The temperature rating of the OEM bulb is 4300K. Remember the Low Beam bulb is a HID Bulb and normal halogen bulbs will not work. The link below is the bulb I chose because I wanted a factory look and reliability from a name brand manufacturer.
I will include a link to the High Beam bulb (9005) if you need them also. The high beam lights are two closest to the center of the car. The 9005 bulb also works for the fog lights.
**For the removal of the headlight there are 4 bolts instead of 3 as mentioned in the video. The 4th bolt is right next to the bolt on the fender on the top side.

Just to help, my 2010 you can actually remove the washer filler neck. It turns about 90 degrees and pulls out to get out of the way. There are two lines to line up. Pretty easy

bro I made the same mistake and the little metal clips that hold the bulb in place came off… how did you get that back on? would be a life saver 😂

I reversed my step and spent a long time putting the clip back on, almost 2 hours. The trick is using a mirror so you can see and feeling the tab the clip goes on. It was frustrating. I hope you can figure it out. Otherwise removing the bumper and headlight gives you more room. Let me know any questions you may have.

Serious question: would removing the fender itself make it easier to do this job perhaps? I know it seems silly but in this case it might literally be quicker and easier to do that. I feel like it's a pain in the ass and really time consuming trying to get to the back of the headlight there through the hole. What do you think?

Dude i just dont know what to do. The dealer wants $450 to replace bulb. And $200 to diagnose. So i said skip diagnose and just do the fix. But after watching this im thinking what if getting a new bulb doesnt work and i need to replace the ballast. I want to try it on my own and save $350 but what if new bulb doesnt work and its the ballast.

I would assume the method should still work just the bolts and screws may be in different places. Since they did a slight face-lift of the front of the car in 2011 and newer models.

I believe you cannot install the LED to the connector since it comes from the ballast which is located underneath the headlight (see part 2 where I replace the ballast - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eseogsqJ1MmqmJc.html) When I was removing the ballast, I noticed the connector into the ballast was like a connector for regular headlight bulbs. So I believe you could connect an LED bulb to that and hopefully the cable is long enough to reach the headlight housing. Hopefully this gives you some insight. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Ok thank and when u replace the bulb do u only take of postive or do u remove both the cables for the battery

@cristianfabian5077 I just took off the the positive cable and put a towel over the post so that the cable doesn't accidentally touch. Removing just the positive cable breaks the connection so it's not necessary to remove both. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have more questions.

So doing some research, it seems like there's no part number for the bulb retaining clip since Acura makes you buy the entire headlight. 🤦‍♂️ One option would be to find it a local salvage yard. I found some random universal clips on Amazon. Not sure which one works, but here's a link to all the clips on Amazon amzn.to/3JHpdvl

Hope you figure something out with it. I'm sorry you have to deal with that. These headlights can be pretty frustrating. I made the mistake the first time of un-hooking the clip before twisting the connection off first..took me 2hrs to fix my mistake 😔

I unpluged the ground wire for the igniter and didn’t plugged it back in. How safe am I to stay like this? Thank you

You should plug the ground back. Just make sure you disconnect your battery for safety. Electrical components need a good ground to operate correctly and not fail earlier than normal. It should be a little easy to plug the ground back since all you have to do is open the back cap. Then maybe with a mirror you can try to plug the wire back.

Hey Thanks for the video. How did you resolve getting the bulb out when you removed the tabs first? Im in the same situation.

I had to re-tab everything so that I could twist the connection off the bulb. Took me 2 hours fighting that. Later I noticed that silver wire connected to the back was a ground wire. There's a white connector attached near the tabs for the bulb. If you disconnect that white connector, then you may be able to pull out the bulb. First time around I was worried that silver wire was a permanent connection and I didn't want to break it. The silver wire kept me from pulling the bulb far enough out. Hope this helps.
