Hidden green menu in Audi MMI 2G (A4, A5, A6, A8, Q7) Multi Media Interface how to

Күн бұрынHow to enter secret green menu in Audi A4, A5, A6, A8 and Q7 with MMI 2G system (MultiMedia Interface). Thanks to this service menu you can change welcome screen, enable optional features (battery level, oil level...), change language coding and adaptation of head unit module, disable regional and software version restrictions to perform firmware downgrade and much much more. All that without VAG-COM, VCDS, VAS or other diagnostic tool.
If you can't get it work, probably you need to enable the hidden menu with VCDS or Vag-Com

@poedy100, go to green menu, select "DIAG SETTINGS", next "APK 0x01, 0x0B, 0x0C", then find "Tyre pressure" and uncheck it, next scroll down to "Accept changes " and it's done! It is the same as you connect via VCDS, login to module 07 and changed canal 1 value.

2013 Audi A6 is equipped with MMI 3G system. Button combination is the same, but if the hidden menu is disabled you have to enable it first with diagnostic tool. Login to module 5F > Adaptation > Channel: 6 > Value: 1 > Save

What about if you have vcds 20.12 with the drop down menus ?

@@karimowhite you will not see drop down menu in this module. Older modules are using channels with numbers, newer ones are using channels with names. Doesn't matter which VCDS version you have. It's cars limitation, not the diagnostic interface.

It does not matter where it is. All you have to do is connect to OBD port under the steering wheel with a diagnostic tool and follow the adaptation procedure. Check out our latest video about enabling hidden menu in MMI 2G (module 07) so you get the idea.

@poedy100 coding the mmi is not the only thing that you have to do in order to make TPMS working. you have to code you can-getaway and instrument cluster. also you need rims with pressure sensors, recievers, antenas and TPMS module.

@byAudiQuattro, you can access over there some basic adaptations without need to connect to VAS or VCDS. for example my TPMS broke down and it displaying warning every time i started my car and I didn't have time to go to service. so with use of this hidden menu i was able to change adaptation and coding of my car and disable the TPMS for few days. you can also change number of MMI settings, enable AUX input, change welcome screen and so on... I use a Bluetooth transmitter in my a4 2010. I have noticed that cars next me who are also connected to Bluetooth are able to merge into my connection. I never had this issue with other cars using a Bluetooth transmitter. Sucks that they only added calling for Bluetooth and not actual Bluetooth for all around use of your phone.

Is it possible to expand the radio frequency in the tuner menu? I have a Japanese import and I'm in New Zealand and have limited stations at the moment.

I believe there was a way to do it with the hidden green menu. Don't have a vehicle with it to try it but go to TUNER > Region Code Settings and check what's there. Just be careful.

If you enable laptimer in the instrument cluster you should get oil temp readout.

AFAIK this feature was introduced in 2007 so you would need to swap your instrument cluster for newer one. Or convince Audi Dealer to update the firmware with service tool.

Hi, I have tried to enable the hidden menu with setup/car buttons but nothing .I have also tried to enable via VCDS but System 07 (head unit) is not available. This may be irrelevant to the video but I've got the 2014 2g navigation update on a dvd, i've tried putting it in the cd player but it says its unreadable. Could you help me out please?

Hello! Navigation DVD must be inserted in the DVD drive that is located in the trunk (in Q7 under the floor, on the right side; in A6, A8 in left compartment). Cd changer is just for music and software update, DVD drive is just for the navigation maps.

Arnold El empty your CD changer, put the update cd in the cd changers 1st slot, press and hold SETUP and RETURN to enter hidden red menu, follow on screen guides.

+Biniyam Fekade I assume that you have Audi Music Interface in your glove compartment. You need a bluetooth adapter for AMI.

@mr-fix 1. Hold setup 2. Then hold Car 3. Release the 2 bottons after 2 seconds or ... Is that right? :)

RunningPics That's right. Press and hold both those buttons and wait couple seconds for the hidden green menu. If nothing happens, then you need to enable the hidden menu with VCDS or similar tool.

Havin problems with 08 Audi q7 tailights done took to mechanic 3 times tail lights won’t stay on done replace twilight switch n all kinda of stuff one will work den sometimes neither one works hate to take to dealership for something simple but really hate can’t drive truck @ night

Check if there's no water in the trunk (side compartment and under the floor). Sometimes sunroof drains are leaking, sometimes rear windows washer. There's a bunch of modules over there (tuners and amplifiers) that will drain power if there's water damage.

Kevin smith Yes. You probably have MMI 3G system. Key sequence is the same but if your hidden green menu is locked, you have to enable it first with VAG-COM, VCDS or any other diagnostic computer.

I believe that Audi R8 is using RNS-E system (known from A4, A6...) with different from panel. Please check my tutorials about that unit.

this helped when the entire mmi system in my 2008 a6 refused to turn off (it randomly happened 3 times in the past 4 yesrs). I would lock the car and the radio stayed on a date kept playing! Resetting it like this made it turn off finally.

You can also check if you use latest software version of the MMI firmware. They improved it a lot over the years.

+Yocelyn Ordonez On MMI: press TEL, then SETUP, find PIN CODE settings and select new code like 1234. Confirm new pin but don't exit this menu. If there's a discover/visibility option make sure that ti's on. Then on the phone search for bluetooth devices, select Audi, confirm with new pin.

I have a a8 and my MMI turns on by itself I have tried to reset it but didn't work and know the back up Camara also it doesn't work after I disconnect the battery. Any suggestions?

sergio portillo if you don't see some functions after battery was disconnected, you need to perform MMI coding and adaptation with a diagnostic tool like VCDS.

@@mrfixpl paid €140 for an hour in audi. The car needs a new radio, approx cost €2,500 so it can stay broken. The red msg says the CD player is malfunctioning. We took it apart and got lots of money coins out but it didn't fix it. I'm now forced to use an Sd card for my music or the radio. 😭

+BUCHU MUSHU i think that you have both. MMI is the system (radio, navigation...) and AMI is optional equipment for the MMI (in the glovebox so you can connect iPhone or USB drive).

+streetbeatz12 check engine light will go away when you remove errors stored in ECU. Reseting error codes will help just for few minutes, because whatever caused the check engine light is still there and need to be fixed.

In MMI 2G - no. You need some kind of diagnostic interface to change the adaptation value. In MMI 3G - yes. There are scripts that you put on SD card that will enable the menu.

Please check if you have your hidden menu enabled. Sometimes it's disabled by dealers.

Hello again! Please try with buttons CAR and MENU. If it does not work, you have to perform quick procedure with diagnostic tool like VCDS: login to module 5F > Adaptation > Channel 6 > New value 1

Confirm that you have Mmi 2G system and not 3G, RMC, Audi Concert... Try with MENU button instead.
