Yo Stevie that shipping container scene is deeper than that you caught the surface meaning. Now as you can see Kendrick is wearing a investigator suit. That is referencing the show “The Wire” because right after it cuts to the girl dancing on the telephone line. On that show they had a entire season dedicated to human trafficking using those containers. This video is way more detailed than it seems. I’ve seen no breakdown channels or reactors truly understand that connection. They think it’s just a girl dancing on a telephone line.

Great artists pay attention to the pulse of the culture, read the room, and use the power of symbolism to get their point across. Kendrick is on par with the greatest artists of all time in any art form because of this. Every other bar is a multilayered entendre. The visuals are just like the bars too. Easter eggs everywhere.

Not only does he like to sleep with his " friends" gfs, wife's and baby mammas. He's not really about that culture and you can only fake it so long. I don't speak slang, I don't know the roots of rap culture, I can't rap, I have two black parents. And I'd be like Drake if I tried to rap it would be cringe. It's a script for him. He was better off singing about hot lines. Rnb artists have songs written for them all the time. That was his lane.

Seen this on Reddit too. “Opening picture was of the courthouse, the next scene was of 12 chairs in two row with only 11 seats filled. It seems like you only have 12 jurors if it's for a felony trial. We as the audience could be the 12th juror. Later on in the video, there is a segment alluding to human trafficking via containers (AC visible inside the containers). This is followed by a celebration in front of the court house, and closed out with the imagery of an owl in a cage. This makes me think that the whole thing is meant to be about putting Drake on trial. Thoughts on whether my interpretation makes sense”?

Imo no one has been able to fully explain so.... in Maya Angelo Poem and Book I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings, she tells the story of her child hood growing up and being molested. Why she stopped speaking for years after the man who harmed her was murdered. She thought it was her fault for what she did by telling. She was the caged bird and she "sang" and told her truth and in the end she was set free by speaking up The owl is a night hunting predator, implying drake is a predator and "freaky AZ n stay inside" they will be caught and locked behind bars

Just in case if you haven’t heard this before. When Kendrick says “Hey hey hey run for your life” is a reference to the Fat Albert cartoon show created by Bill Cosby. Also when Kendrick says “Step this way…. step this way” is a reference to R Kelly’s step in the name of love song.

No, that has been debunked since Fat Albert only said, "hey, hey, hey.....it's Fat Albert" and the Fat Albert character was loyal to his hood friends and championed integrity . Lastly, it was debunked on the mere fact, Bill Cosby was never charged with anything associated with minors.

This is why I LOVED the video. It was extra disrespect but only if you knew what to look for or turned the words into a visual/a visual etaphir. I often struggle to get some things into my imagination due to mild autism spectrum disorder. That area sometimes does me dirty and is like…”yeah, you’re gonna have to wait to have some reference. Till then it’ll be this nebulous, abstract thing in your head” This video brought a perfect combination of storytelling mostly via the song but then punches, jabs, jokes, and also…proof that Drake lost and lied (hi, Whitney, I’m looking at you, wonderful lady!) And you know, sometimes on videos you can tell..it’s just acting. No, this was something else. I could just. FEEL that energy coming through my screen. 4:51 yes! Again, Drake isn’t like him. Kendrick is competitive, but is generous. He gives back. Drake is way too ego filled to care if he stomps on others careers, divides people, etc. maybe I’m being harsh, maybe it’s my female spidey senses…but just. No. I don’t like him. I think he has talent, sure. But I don’t think it’s as much as he thinks he has and all. I think he got too arrogant and likely stopped truly trying to evolve in SOME areas .
