Yes I was also fearful when I was eating watermelon but some seeds fell in my soil and after some time I saw watermelon on the plant when I plucked watermelon it was not big because of season was not I am not thinking it will red inside but I was surprised to see it was red and sweet then I realised watermelon which I purchased from market was geniune.

Which means that you can't use its seeds and get the same qualities of the fruit, since they are carefully mixed for particular traits in the first generation. That's probably why the size was less in your case. But you were lucky to get sweet melons. Remember, nothing in nature exists to satisfy us. Each species exists and reproduces for itself. So it takes a lot of selective breeding to make it attractive to us. So, store-brought seeds alone can give what the market wants. However, there are a lot of heirloom crops which can be propagated by saving seeds. It doesn't apply to all fruits and vegetables though.

What you say is partly true . No doubt agriculture is a serious business . But many farmers or traders do inject certain injections to make it look red because after eating it we get sore throat and a bad taste.

Even pineapple are injected with sweetness ,in fact now a days I have stopped buying pineapple because of this . you can know if it is injected by looking at the pineapple , from one corner where it is injected ,it gets a little limp and rotten
