Brushing in box blinds to hide deer hunters getting in and out is very important in high-hunting pressured areas. A food plot is only as good as a hunter's ability to get in and out undetected. In this video we installed and brushed in 4 Redneck blinds near food plots for a landowner in west MI.

I do the same to try to hide my blinds somewhat. If you have Red or White Oak use therm for counseling your blinds. The leaves will stay on the branches for a long time!

My opinion is that hunting directly over a food plot is the quickest way to ruin the nearby bedding areas and spook the deer from the area perhaps for the rest of the season. Over hunting your blinds probably will not help you get that “tirdy pointer”.

Pro-tip.wrap camo burlap all around the base of the stand before you brush it in. Then when those leaves and needles fall off those branches you are still hidden.also, you should have used that tractor to strap some small trees across the top of the blinds till it drapes over them. Then you open the windows and use clippers to clear out the window holes. If you brush in to the point if you were a sniper hunting a human and they wouldn’t know you are there, no deer will ever be spooked by you. Not criticizing, most people don’t put a thing around their blinds, but you can’t just hide the bottoms.

No telling what the land owner paid, but with the work both mentally and physically it had to be worth it! Excellent work!! Loved listening and watching the transformation! It will only be increasing in habitat value!!

Randy, I have planted about 50 Hybrid Willows now, but only 5 or 6 have lived. I have switched to planting elaeagnus for security screening. Much more hardy, drought resistant, etc.

I'm curious why you access all your stands thru the middle of your property rather than your side access trails. Your blowing out half your property with your scent every time you go in. Using your side access trails putting your blinds on the outside edge of your plots and paying attention to the wind you wouldn't blow your scent across your property and keep your impact to a minimum. Great job on those blinds. They really blend in so much better.

Love your ideas about how to best position a hunting blind for optimum success. I was wondering if you do referrals on Michigan potential hunting land for sale? Have a friend looking to move his small farm in Michigan.

11:46 mark - You're right. AT THE MOMENT you can't see the food plot. When those maples you cut down wilt and the leaves drop, anyone walking up to that blind is going to stand out to any deer in the food plot. Once again, a complete NOVICE MISTAKE!

Fiberglass box blinds don't weigh that much not like a wood built, don't think they were in any danger.

15:40 mark - No, that's not the only spot you could have put it. There's a better spot just south and a little east of that spot on the inside of the dog leg. Yet another novice failure.
