The road to this place took me the most time today, because there was a lot of snow in these places, in some places its depth becomes about a meter, coming to an abandoned log cabin, I saw that the flag that was flying on the roof of the house was skewed, which indicates that that there was a real snow storm with a strong wind, it alerted me because I didn’t want the weather to repeat this night, because the house is not so warm even with a working stove, and the temperature at night dropped to -10 s / 14f

It is so valuable to promote backcountry skills and bushcraft in this modern age when most people have lost touch with the land and basics of life. My daughter went on an overnight field experiment trip with fellow students and she was the only one (the rest were guys) who knew how to build and light a wood fire to cook food. Мне тоже как-то пришлось ночевать в доме с плохой печью..да вдобавок ещё и спина разболелась хоть караул кричи...выход из положения был такой:- нашла десяток кирпичей...нагрела их ...засунула под матрац и улеглась спать ..тепло было как у бабушки на печи...а на утро и спина перестала болеть !!! 😁😁👍👍👍

Нет причин, чтобы не пожить в деревне, просто смотреть проще, чём носить воду, колоть дрова, топить печь, сажать огород. Я только недавно стала жить в доме с отоплением и санузлом.

Many years ago I found a place ,a shepherds hut, Very run down. It was 15 miles from the house. Built up 5 bricks at a time. Fire on the ground and a chimney ,sleeping area off ground and that was it. Eat on sleeping area. Weather was never worse than - 5, easy life . Granite rocks stay warm for a good time, after heating round fire. Never forget how necessary a good knife and axe are. Many a quiet few days with a good book spent there.
