High Elves of WHFB are not the equivalent of the Eldar. The point of the Eldar is that they've already lost, their survival is the proof of their awesomeness. Their closest narrative counterpart in Fantasy would be the giants, who used to have a high civilisation before being devoured by the Great Maw, now reduced to dull solitary wanderers. High Elves, on the other hand, are not quite on the verge of collapse like this yet. They are diminished, but still powerful. Betrayed by the firstborn son of their leader ten millennia ago, they're still holding on to sovereign power in the world. High Elves are the Space Marines. Malekith is Horus.

I think a good way to describe the difference between an Asur and a Tau when it comes to melee is that the Tau is just going to fold unless it’s wearing a big battlesuit. Meanwhile the elf is going to give you a damn good run for your money to even get a good hit in, but that one good hit will probably be all you need.

Look, I agree with Collin on a lot of his points, but it seems plain and obvious that Morathi used a Glamour on Malekith when he "Turned to the darkside" hence why his magic addled mind had the brilliant idea of that 'Trust me bro' accusation, I feel with that weird crown he found and Morathi's fucking with him, both literally and figuratively, he was in an addled state till he burned in the flames of Asuryan and by then he'd already gone too far. So a Villian he was made, honestly its probably why by the time he actually achieved his goals in the end times and became pheonix king he completely abandoned his mother, and in Age of Sigmar he's the in a state of fuck off and leave me alone especially mom. He's probably remourseful but still has enemies. Which is a lot to say that Malekith is the true pheonix king, Eli is right...blah blah provacative statement at Collin blah.

I have a real and a joke response to this fireside. Real: Always good to get some real juicy details about another Fantasy faction. Joke: I’m glad we can’t see Collin’s room. It would either be covered in Elf pin-ups or bodily fluids that could only be produced by a hentai protagonist.

What a great video ! Made me reconsider the elves that I found infinitly boring, thanks PS : Reading through the second novel of Gotrek and Felix, and I like it, I am so suprised how it is not original at all, but so well written, with good characters, that I am not interested in the grand scheme, just happy to tag along their adventures
