Love These Lamps! That little glass lamp is a trip, I've used that foam in the can around my storm windows in the winter and dear Lord trying to get that crap off whoa but I could see you thinking it was going to work oh look at the that cute little Glass Lamp from the second hand store, I really like that so I I'd have to leave it alone and find a different way one to work your magic on.... I think you got it, Lamp shade is awesome!!💛👍

Both of the lamps are beautiful but what I really liked was the raffia attached to the lamp shade! Omg what a way to update a shade on a budget but with a high end look! Haven't seen anyone else do this... fantastic!

Love the large lamps! They came out very authentic. And thank you for sharing the fail - learning comes mostly from our failures apparently :-) Am itching to see you model something with plaster bandages, I think that could be a good alternative to the expanding foam and it is easy to make funky curvy shapes if you wrap it around wire and foil. Have a wonderful week 🙂

Those old ginger jar style lamps were so popular long ago. I love the way you changed them. There is a type of foam insulation that doesn’t swell as much, I think you were headed the right way.

Jorge, have you ever tried gluing on glass decorative marbles and or broken plates, then grouting to make a mosaic? I’ve done stepping stones, but I’d like to try lamps, or with your ball idea, making a half ball bowl for a fountain or bird bath. Have you ever tried making a bowl?

yo trabajaba en un taller que hacia figuras con espuma de poliuretano, el molde es de silicona que se hace facil tambien con la forma que quieras, lo puedes diseñar con plastilina y de ahi sacar el molde, o quizas echarle un demoldante a ese plastico y cortarlo por la mitad para convertirlo en molde y rezar por que creo que se pega... un poco mas dificil que un DIY, felicidades son bien chulas tus ideas

You should get some Annie Sloan Dark Wax. It ages things beautifully and you can add more or remove it by sanding to achieve a beautifully aged finish. I used to sell her products and this wax is something I use a lot in refinishing furniture and also on some faux pots I did similar to your lamps. I love them btw. I will be trying something similar soon!

I like the big ginger jar lamps. They look high end. I like the styrofoam balls. I wonder how they would do with air dry clay over them and stuck on a pot? I’ve done the baking soda diy Over pottery. To give that pottery texture look.

I love both "successful" lamps. I use a lot of your ideas. But please please tell me you cleaned up that second crystal/glass lamp. It's a beautiful lamp and all I would have done is update the brass color at the bottom . Please keep up your awesome work.

The first lamps came out nicely. I probably would’ve used a sponge to apply and remove color to avoid brushstrokes. I recently started doing this in some of my DIYs and really like the result

Also, I wanted to let you know. I have fails too. Lol that’s why we buy for next to nothing. We might loose our time. But at least it was cheap. When ever I get a fail. I look at it and say, I’m over you! Lol lol and in the trash it go’s. Part of creativity.

Incredible how you transformed the lamps looking ethruscan. Can you show same idea on a large ceramic vase. I mean the semi spheres looked so goid on a lamp but for a vase with an open top what would you suggest before painting with cement? Thank you.

Very fun projects giving new life to old lamps. 👏👏👏😍 Showing the fails is very valuable info too. You might like another line of cement products called Ready Set. I believe it’s their mortar mix that’s extremely sculpt-able. On Michael Builds’ channel is a video where he demonstrates how to use it on a vertical block wall. I think this stuff could open up new possibilities for you. I hope you check it out & like the idea ‘cuz I’d love to see what you’d do with it.

I did a skim coat with quickcrete because it was $3 opposed to the $17 skim coat. Not a good idea.

The foam needs oxygen to do its thing and expand, by putting in in the tub around lamp base you cut off the oxygen so couldn't expand as well as it should have, cool ideas though
