@@MadAudiofficial - I definitely see it.. I do many shows also for photos and video recently for Axpona .. I was helping Jay's Iyagi .. a lot of work.. risk.. expensive gear.. time.. etc.. Yes sir .. I respect it.

Great comment at the beginning of the reportage, regarding the music typically played at these HiFi shows. So called "audiophile" music is usually very simple, two instruments and three notes. Usually, when music gets more complicated, things tend to disintegrate. Heard it happening one too many times.

Yeah Audiophile music is the simplest way to let your setup shine, but we need definitely also real stuff!

The Linn room had a fantastic midrange. Little comments on this on the various comments from the show. One of my absolute favorites.

@@MadAudiofficial Guess it was active. Linn loves the active solution. I thought many rooms sounded ok to very good, but I usually had to try several chairs to get the best sound. Nice to see your report from the show. I just got to be there on Sunday so I was not able to see all the stuff.

From a technical standpoint the system with all the compression drivers/horns is going to be a disaster. One of the hurtles to multi-driver systems is managing the phasing of the various drivers, and this always results in nulls in the response due to cancellations. Normally with two and three way systems care is taken in the relative phasing (i.e. driver alignment) to ensure the nulls fall above and below the listening axis so they are outside of the normal listening area, but with such a byzantine array of compression drivers the resulting radiation pattern will just be a mess, and this doesn't even touch on all the other issues. This is one reason why you only see one (or maybe a few) mid and high frequency drivers in speakers unless they are using active beam steering or something.

The biggest Problem for me to go to this show is, that are the Rooms have such an bad Room Acoustic / not enough Treatment. Why listen to the most expensive stuff when the RT60 is way to high and youve so much Frequency problems because nearly all of them, didnt even use DSP Correction to get at least a little bit flat and acourate response. And another point is the awful music in a lot of rooms and so much people talking, even when music is playing. I only go to mastering studios to listen to samples because the acoustics there are very good and you get at least an solid music playback

Majority of young people still paying their mortgage so majority of expensive system or components are for retiree or senior who could afford with their saving but but but their degrading hearing are no more fit for those system !!!!!
