😄 Saw Paradise Lost yesterday as the finisher of a three days festival. This one could easily have been added to the setlist. Talking about this festival, German Endseeker (deathmetal); Belgian Brutus (black metal influenced and a bit psychedelic) and Scottish DVNE were absolutely out of this world. Glad I'm still alive... They're on tour with Cradle of Filth in the autumn and I for one will be all over it.

Mentioning all those names at the start got me interested, made me assume more doomy stuff, which I'd have been fine with. But bringing up "death pop" made me think immediately of Lord Of The Lost, and I could see that comparison to an extent as well, it's definitely got a bit of a catchy vibe to it that the Doom background doesn't normally provide

Let's hope that 'the birth of Death Pop' is swiftly followed by the death of Death Pop - as a superfluous genre. To me, that was Goth - Metal and, needless to say, 100% Paradise Lost. I loved the song. Great combination of harsh and clean vocals, great melodic sections - a winner in my book.
