Fortunately, drummers can be switched out without missing a beat. Kind of like like bass players ...😉j/k Such excellent melodies and song construction. I can't help but think the entire song would have been better served with clean vocals. I may be influenced by the recent Charlotte Wessels though. I'm still listening to that daily.

This song might be a grower. It doesn't really grab me at first listen and I love all of their stuff except that Lighbringer song, absolute trash. About that Charlotte Wessels somg, Chasing Sunsets, is it just me or is it recorded poorly? Sounds muddy to me, like a very low bitrate. In comparison to this song, for example, it's much worse

I might or might not be writing this comment with a seven spires t-shirt on, so this is also totally not a biased comment. Funnily enough, this is my least favorite of the 4 singles they put, and still is great. Thanks for reminding me I need to still buy the full album, not being on bandcamp is a pain. Drummer (Chris Dovas) was hired by Testament. Nothing else to the story, SS did a nice farewell show for him. I saw them in Munich and also remember the sound wasn't particularly great. It was not as terrible as you describe but certainly improvable, the guitar was barely hearable, voice was fine-ish.
@rem79212 сағат бұрын
Why leave? I know it's Testament but Seven Spires has a bright future, it might not be like Unleash The Archers which blew up out of nowhere but I think they will grow much more.
@DenisLapuente10 сағат бұрын
@@rem792 no idea, but why not? growth is not the only option, he might just like testament, the money or the experience. All are perfectly valid reasons, if they are fine with it and know him much better, I wouldn't question it

@DenisLapuente Of course, he probably had a very good reason and only he knows best.

it does rock and it's outstanding, I disagree with your review here. maybe your ear buds are not balanced well, I hear every layer crystal clear. I use a DAC to AKG headphones and everything seems to be one of their better mixes. KIMI's voice is clear and sounds awesome, the guitars sound good an d the drums driving and solid. the one thing I would say is a little missing in the mix is HARU's bass line, but she tends to blend well with NATSUMI's pocket. the growls are just right, not too much, nice accent to the song. IDK what your earbuds sound like, but I've listened to it on my car stereo, the album version mix is even better than the YT MV, ear buds, speaker bars, and my AKG K701 .....I think the mix is a lot better than most. everyone has different hearing preferences, and normally I would jump on a mix that is sub-par along with you. No mix is perfect and their live mixes are usually not great via KZfaq either, but I have heard they sound outstanding live in person. hopefully get to see them on this upcoming tour in early 2025. anyway. great song, thanks for the honest reaction. it's ok to have varying opinions especially on music which literally either resonates well or does not. (on many facets)

As a Dutchman, I think I don't sound silly when I say that I'm a little proud of the female metal singers we have. This is another example of a very good singer. The female singers we have here who are successful are mostly all classical. Very melodic. I agree with you where you say that it was musically quite heavy and that the voice is unexpectedly soothing. But it works.

The singles are not part of an album, we're using those two songs to bridge between our first album (Ocean Paradox Chapter I) and the second since the band's line-up and sound has been drastically changed. We are so happy you liked Cursed By Light and we hope you'll dig the second one too, we'll be sure to send it to you as soon as it's out! Big hug from Italy!
