Every time I watch CoS, my hopes of my party surviving Barovia dwindle... We've already had a few close-TPK scenarios and we haven't even gotten to the hard stuff (except O'l Bonegrinder, but we noped out of there pretty quickly after recklessly trying to corner one witch)

The distances from place to place in Barovia is probably my biggest issue with the module. You can traverse the whole valley in about a day of travel..

It is very small.When I ran this I made a point to note that strahd's castle was almost supernaturally visible no matter where you were.

@@thisismyboat I just made the travel time between Barovia and vallaki almost 2 days by foot, vallaki to Krezk at least a day, over a day from Krezk to winery, and to Tsolenka/Amber Temple it'll be like 4-5 days probably

The Mire should've played as the Reborn Gothic Lineage, maybe with the creature type as Plant. Great way to not have to eat, drink, or breathe.

I’m pretty sure they went over the reborn lineage on their character creation stream and they didn’t really feel it. I’m pretty sure Mark has made it so they don’t have to eat or drink anyway

Party: we’re so uncertain about what to do… we could do this, or we could do that. What do we do?! Mark as Ismark: we should go to berez Mark as Irina: we should go to Krezek Mark as were-raven family: it’s ok, do whatever you want… we’ll just go to die. No big deal though, don’t feel obligated, we totally understand 😅

NPC's are killing Mark... ROFL I used to date this girl that while she didn't want to play per se, she loved playing the part of the NPCs. She was actually pretty good too. Her work schedule didn't allow for her to be there every session. She could really vex myself and the party at times with her portrayal of the NPCs...

There is an entire episode of them making the mire on high rollers, they count as teiflings as races though

Seems they are more worried about sounding creepy than actually acting like party members. Hard to explain personally the luls roleplay isnt above the idk.. the team the mission for me. I hope they don't act like the dragonborns acted

This is a Ravenloft campaign, as in happening in the setting of paranoia and fear of party members back stabbing. There are good games to play as a party that are the best friends, but Ravenloft is not the setting for that.

You feel the Mire was hampering the party? I definitely feel nervous that Rhi and Tom are going to want to take the character in different directions and one is going to get stuck playing second fiddle, but in this episode they consistently gave good advice and used useful spells. The characters weren't at all disruptive.
