Alllrrrighttt Jesús, it’s finally #HighSteaksReview time @Fogo De Chão (New Orleans, LA). 20th #HighSteaksReview and probably my 150th+ time at this Fogo De Chão (pronounced fo-go dèe shoun) location since Freshman year.
Shoutout to the brothas in the E-Club. You know who you are 😤💯🤝.
You think New Orleans restaurants, you think: GW Fins, Galatoire’s, Commander’s Palace, and Fogo De Chão… oh and I guess gumbo and Po-boys if you’re into that idk.
Word so I’ve been to this location easily over 100 times. Probably over 150. I’ve also been to their NY (Long Island), Boston, Philly, and Miami.
(Just checked the website to make sure I didn’t miss any cities I’ve been to and just saw they opening up another one in Fort Lauderdale and Coral Gables LETS FUCKING GOOOOOO)

As for the steak, very good. Fogo isn’t known for their porterhouse. They rarely have it as part of the “Full Experience.” Even if they did have it more consistently, it isn’t what you come for. The full experience is still the full experience without it. But I had my chance to review it so damn sure I was gonna take it.
For a steak they don’t normally have, they did a great job. I requested (not ordered) it rare, to keep everything fair. The piece of filet and NY strip that I got were both cooked almost perfectly to temperature.
Given how they cook their steaks, there wasn’t much of a crust on it. It also wasn’t dry aged. Like I said, that’s where the bigger scores start to come in.
But for a non-dry aged steak with very little crust, there are very few that I’d pick over it. It was seasoned very well with only salt. And the flavor was really really nice.
Scoring the porterhouse itself, and not the “full experience” is tough. The full experience is a MINIMUM of an 9.1 every time 😤.
But for just the porterhouse, on my normal steak scale, I went 6.3. Which is an impressive score considering all the other steaks I’m stacking it up against.
