Allllrrrrihhttttt Randi… it’s #HighsteaksReview time @okeechobeesteakhouse (West Palm Beach, FL) with bonus French Onion Soup review and giveaway 👀.
Two steaks, everyone knows the rules. Porterhouse, rare. As per usual. I always appreciate getting recommendations from heads on here. Okeechobee was recommended to me by @redstang85 a while back, and I made sure to try it before I left Florida.
Supposedly, it’s Florida’s oldest steakhouse, which I forgot to mention in the review. Also, our waitress, Amber, was provided excellent service and requested a note be made of that.
Sean told me to get the French onion soup. It was fucking phenomenal. 9.4.
As for the porterhouse, it did not come sliced which I was actually excited about. It was cooked closer to medium rare than rare, but very very solid color nonetheless.
Okeechobee dry ages their steaks, which provides additional, more profound, flavor that non dry aged steaks simply cannot achieve. So the flavor of the steak was great. However, they didn’t salt it at all. The salt shakers on the table worked phenomenally well though.
At least they didn’t season it with pepper. Like I said, had they added even the smallest amount of salt, the score would have been even higher.
The crust was solid. Slightly more charred than I would like, but it did not impart a bitter flavor. So that’s good.
How ‘bout those cutting skills??????????
I went 7.3 on the porterhouse. 9.4 on the French onion soup, and 9.6 on my cutting skills. (I could have gone much faster, but I was talking half the time)
Okeechobee Steakhouse, great recommendation, that’s your review.
