I never comment… but I literally bumbled my way into this EXACT build size and dimensions and materials. It blew into my neighbors tree the first season. Dropped the dough on a kit with metal poles and wiggle wire. Much happier :)

I really appreciate the visual of each separate greenhouse with dimensions and specific anchoring. Especially with the crop explanations. Very informative!

Great video, Each region has its own unique environment and each grower needs to decide what is best for them. Good to see how others grow.

That was really cool moving that greenhouse. I suspect you could have a slightly smaller one on the inside covered in just shade cloth on it, for those really hot days..

On the end cap, you noted the cross member designed to strengthen the tunnel as you move it along the plot. A small problem created is there is no door, and getting in and out is more difficult. As an alternative, the cross member can be detachable, and it fits outside the framework of the tunnel. When you want to move the tunnel, you can attach the cross member with bolts to add structural strength. When finished, then detach the cross member and put away in storage. You now have full access to the inside of the tunnel through a door.

Had t seen the track setup before, that’s a neat idea. Is it just galvanized pipe?

love your tunnels! So i have to worry about rabbits, gophers, squirels, deer. Do you think a tunnel would be effective for me? I have hot summers, and was thinking of using shadecloth in the summer months instead of plastic, since me have temps of 90-100 for 3-4 months. Do you think that would work? My concern is when I have to open the doors or sides for cooling, thus also letting critters in. any thoughts?

HI -- you will want to get in contact with your local Cooperative Extension office. They will have the best advice on what works best in your climate.

They make pvc cross connectors that you could use instead of rope. Then you could use pvc to help make your structure more rigid.

Jeremy Metcalf , I have found that green house plastic over pvc pipe shortens the life of the plastic by about half. I have gone to all galvanized steel tubing hoops for my tunnels for that reason. I have been using the tubing that they sell for chain link fences, made a jig out of plywood, anchored that down to the wood deck of my backhoe trailer, and hand bent the hoops. For 20ft wide house, I used 32” hoop spacing with some temporary center support for heavy snow load, works good!

Yes there’s a chemical reaction between the pvc and the poly. I’m surprised she still does it that way.

I love how, half way through the video, she eludes to "a farmer in Maine". Elliott Coleman invented this high tunnel on tracks. Give him his due, please.

It wasn't Eliot Coleman who gave me the idea to have a connector at the four foot level. It was Ben Whatley, of Whatley Farm. Fair enough. I should have given him credit.
