lol, i hated changing the air filter on my e-start GasGas bikes. Same deal as you are finding with that battery box.

I added a LITTLE EXTRA KICK to mine. Using two SC-1 4 cell batterys and sending 24v to starter its instantaneous like 1 second!!!! In Florida H/S racing have dead engine starts and have to run to bike. With a Rekluse clutch bike in 2nd gear it will take off before you can get your leg over seat.

Go from + battery 1 to relay from relay to - 2nd battery then to starter. First battery will charge and run lights. 2 nd battery will need charged with a charger

Thanks for the vid, I absolutely love the tech vids. So you gonna run a fan now too? Did you check voltage revving the bike? Just curious since 13.3 to 13.4 is a fully charged 12 lithium battery.

Awesome that looks much better. Surprised they sent you so much bad stuff haha. Bad luck I guess. If you have a fin on the bottom of your seat, definitely grind that off. I had grinded mine down and it still wore through the strap so I took the fin right off. That rubber piece Panthera provided wasn’t enough. Looking forward to seeing what light you’re gonna run!

I’m blown away by this. I have an 06 yz450f and I’m 47 years old. I’m also only 5’8” so the bike is tall but I love it and won’t switch to a smaller bike. I would however love the addition of an E start in my bike. Does this company make one to fit the yz450f? I love your videos bro, keep it up. Great energy!

Great job, I noticed a bit of a gear drive type noise in the test video. Did that lessen with use or get worse?

It stayed the same. The sound that happens when you hit the kill switch is from the motor stopping and briefly rotating backwards as it comes on compression and engaging the starter. It doesn’t cause a problem. The sound it makes when starting is just the way it sounds and is just fine.

Hydraulic clutch time? Thats one cool yz im picking up a 99 yz250 wreck tomorrow and planning to do it up as my mx bike and keep my ktm for enduro.

I have used the hydro clutches on YZ’s in the past and I don’t like how they work. The cable is better on this bike in my opinion. I obviously LOVE my hydro on my KTM

@@highlandcycles Fair enough it would be a magura on the yz im guessing. My ktm has a brembo works amazingly just doesnt have that grab in my opinion it dampens it.

I’m curious to see how it starts while it’s in gear. I’d like to think I can stall and start it while it’s still rolling

It works well. That really depends on your clutch adjustment and how easily it slips when you have the lever in.

@@highlandcycles I’ve got a full rekluse set up and a high compression head. I can kick start in gear but it’s far easier in neutral

I have the same kit. was starting. now it cranks over won't start no spark. Any thoughts on what might be wrong?

Maybe. Did you do the redundant ground mod that they sent the tech bulletin out on? Also, my original stator had a break in the insulation that would have eventually killed it if I hadn’t found it and gotten a new one.

How is your long term review , riding hard enduro causing extreme heat affects the stator functionality ?

Ehhh, I ended up selling the bike. It wasn’t because of function (I had to sell to get my kid a new bike during race season) but it has since had issues. My overall opinion is that I wouldn’t do it again.

@@highlandcycles thank you for the reply, I'm very close to buyin one as I'm at the junction of.... do I keep my much loved yz or buy something with a electric start, (p.s I had the same thoughts as you if I went down that route as in you're goin to have to spend a extra 3k on top of what I'd get for my yz) iv just been worried that if I spend the money on the panther starter and it ends up breaking all the time! I'll be very upset as it not cheap, and do you know is the actul starter motor Panthers own or is it a for the shelf motor from a current production bike I.e the same motor ktm use for example

@@dualtrondreamteam6811 their starter is the same one off of the earlier KTM’s. Mine has been good but there are plenty of folks who haven’t had as good results. I like it but I’m not 100% sure it’s as solid as I have experienced

Thanks Morgan! I just finished my own install and wound up modifying the airbox. I see you are running the older style plastic, mine is the newer or restyle airbox. Or you could stick with the YZ, add the starter plus a Rekluse clutch and have your suspension done by Factory Connection for the same price.
