I can't see myself accepting a replacement Kurgan but I'd love to see a reboot for Amanda, Joe, and Adam/Methos. In other words, the movie and its characters/actors are too iconic but rehashing some of the series stories, along with some brand new tales would be fantastic. I just don't want to see Richie again; Stan's death broke my heart.

This person has it correct. There is no need to expand upon, or update the only Highlander ever made. The one-off film got it right and hit a home run on its very first, and only try! There Can Be Only One!

My take on Highlander would be to redo the series, have four seasons. And use the stories and characters from the original movies and sequels and tidy everything up. In my version we will find out where the immortals originated. We will see flashbacks of Ramirez, the rise of the Kurgan, the army of General Katana and Warlord Kane. We will see Connor McCleod and Jacob Kell as friends who were both trained by Ramirez. Ramirez knows Jacob is immortal too. We will see the immortals battle In present time under the watchful eye of a very powerful company who's vested interest plays a part in mankind's fate. In the end. There can be only one.

How are they going to make it better than the original? Apart from over doing the special effects its difficult to see how they can make it more enjoyable. NB Juan Sanchez-Villalobos Ramírez was Egyptian not Spanish (sorry to be a d!ck about it).

@@SkotiM damn that’s right! lol but still… I’m ok with this one. I think it has potential and if part two didn’t ruin the original for me this one won’t either. I’m hoping it’ll be fun and I can sit and watch it with my kids then show them the first film as well. We’ve done it before and it’s been a cool experience.

To me the TV series was much better than the original movie...it provided more depth into the characters and the story...not taking away the greatness of the original of course

My biggest issues with the series were that they made him a McCleod (seemed odd that two would be immortals) and that they changed the story ending. Connor was the final immortal not Duncan, it was already established. Aside from that I enjoyed the series overall and I’m ok with them using it as a way to help create a new franchise.
