Other than these tournaments (IIHF, Olympics, World juniors) they're in, the country and the cities that have teams in professional leagues, all struggle to win because other countries are ALWAYS better than them... Canada can't even compare to other countries when it comes to soccer and a lot of Olympic events, but basketball, football, baseball and now hockey (since the 1990s), Canada is destroyed by the US...!

Personally, I doubt it. I am pretty sure the world cup of hockey is next year, meaning ALOT of nhl players are gonna be playing. So its gonna be hard for teams like Latvia to compete. But anything is possible. For reference, the last world cup in 2016, Crosby, Tavares, Bergeon, Marchand, Doughty played for Canada. Matthews and Mcdavid played too but for different teams because of their age.

I've been saying this for a couple years now while watching the World Juniors. Germany has something special brewing and in all honesty, as a Canadian it makes me kind of scared (That's a compliment I promise lol)

I feel bad for the Americans. They played an excellent and entertaining tournament and would have deserved a medal too. But at the same time it is amazing to have new medalists here and there is no doubt that the Bronze means so much more for the Latvians than it would have meant for the Americans. So congratulations Germany and Latvia, awesome ending to this WHC even if it wasn't quite enough against Canada! 🇫🇮

Germany also won their first medal since the 1950s and their first silver medal ever so its still a big win to us

Don't worry, its still the biggest big win for germany in recent ice hockey history, it was our first medal since the 1950s when the world championship had just 4 nations 😂 In the first 2 thirds I was pretty sure we would win but in the last, that defense was just perfect and it was a deserved win. We will keep getting better until one day we finally make gold and I think our players have proven that they must not be underestimated even by the best of the best 😉

U.S. had a very good team. I thought that they would at least get the silver medal. Came close, but lost both of the last two games in overtime and came away with no medals. Probably the best team ever to now win a medal.
