Another great performance by England. I don’t want to gloat too much as I think we had an advantage over Ireland with the two Welsh slogs under our belt. Plus Ireland looked rustier than the titanic. But a lesser English side could have come off the gas, and produced a much more flattering result for Ireland. As it is; we definitely took full advantage of the situation. @@nicholaswhite3811 what an amazing win for England but saying wales aren't ready is a little short minded considering they beat england the weekend before this
@nicholaswhite38114 жыл бұрын
Christopher Bevan not short minded at all, based on the evidence of last three weeks. In both matches Wales played a full strength XV ( injuries permitting) , England fielded a below full strength side with several,players out of normal position. Wales did very little to show they were ready. The margin of victory by England in the first game was convincing, and resounding. The margin of victory by Wales in the second match was about as narrow as it gets in such a low scoring game. I don’t take anything away from the Welsh players in scoring the North Try. They took advantage of the situation they were presented with and scored. But it was lucky in that it should not have happened. The referee was reprimanded for allowing play to continue during a HIA replacement. World Rugby has issued a formal reminder to all referees that when a player leaves the field for HIA play does not continue until his replacement is on the pitch ready to play. If we consider this as relevant the margin of victory was very slim and not consistent with a team that is ready for RWC. Next week may see a different performance and we could then safely say Wales are ready but not until they provide the evidence.

Guillaume Genet you are correct a forward pass is defined as when the passer’s arms move towards the opponents dead ball line. But the guys here mentioning the grass lines caused by the mower are citing the evidence that the arms did go towards the dead ball line causing the ball to travel forward. You cat pass backwards as per Law and cause the ball to travel forward. I suspect I’m going to get all the physics stuff about momentum. To save you the bother, I teach physics and fully understand the laws of momentum and Newton’s laws of motion etc etc. Make your arms go back the ball goes back, make your arms go forward the ball goes forward. If you make your arms go side ways and you are running really fast the ball will drift forward but it will be so imperceptible that even with slow motion it will be difficult to see. It is this latter case the Law is designed to cover. If the ball travels forward a perceptible distance it was thrown forward as defined in Law 12 preamble.

New systems, new coach. Rugby changes just like any other sport. Plus this was a World Cup year so obviously everything came to a crescendo tactically speaking. I don't think it's doom and gloom for England, though. We looked the best we have since 2019 in attack against Scotland and Borthwick is actually picking on form players in their actual positions and backing youngsters like willis, Lawrence, OHC and Arundell. I think they'll turn it around.

Stockdale is abysmal defensively.. I've said it for 18 months and people just look at his attacking flair.. He's a liability as a defender, and has done nothing to put it right..
@thecuttingsark50944 жыл бұрын
Tolly T Interesting. England obviously played a blinder and had an overlap which caused him to rush instead of drift, but it seams he really couldn’t make the right decisions and was caught out several times. Maybe he was just the unlucky position that got exposed, but it happened a few times in the game
@tollyt74654 жыл бұрын
@@thecuttingsark5094 it can be worked on, but they're either not doing it, or he isn't listening. It's not just yesterday's game as I've watched him closely. He gets dragged out of position and gives the outside when there's too much space to do it.. I know he backs himself and that's great, but Big Joe is fast, yet not the absolute quickest and he was able to put a yard or two on Stockdale yesterday after being shown the outside. That shows he's slow to turn, and his positional game isn't the best..
