@@rickzane6433 I know that (since I am one of them) I knew that Forge would definitely have a chance to win, but not dominate like this. Herdman and TFC have fallen off, but I guess you could make an argument that some of the players are playing for Canada

@yoyoyouyeofficial TFC is in the hole ,Forge is getting stronger every year and scoring lots of goals lately. Lots of TFC players not available + motivation to knock out a MLS side who plays next door. Yup, the recipe was perfect for an upset.

it's not like Forge had all their players available and didn't also have to rotate their roster some. It always amuses me that MLS teams claim roster issues due to schedule congestion and the underdog team somehow were superhuman and were able to play their normal league schedule and walk into these cup games fresh

No, I mean the value of the franchise itself, not the combined salaries of its players (which is tiny). Insigne's salary is US$15M. The Forge FC Franchise (i.e. if you wanted to buy the team) is worth around US$12M-$14M.

@@philojudaeusofalexandria9556 Oh ok. Somebody wrote that it is more than the TFC 2007 expansion fee, which was 10 million. Anyway its one of the worst signings ever however one looks at it ... Bernardeschi is way over paid as well. The team hasnt been the same since Bezbatchenko left.. Their current GM is basically a guy with no experience ..

Substance over style, simple as that. I do hope this wakes more people up to the level of play in the CPL isn't far off from the MLS for an actual reasonable ticket price and the league can continue to grow for the benefit of Canadian soccer.

@@kidbrown2010 he was always the bridesmaid in Juventus…. playing behind high-salaried stars like Ronaldo, Vlahovic, etc…. Now that I think about it he’d fit in playing for either Roma or Lazio at Stadio Olimpico. Again they’ve lost important pieces and could use a playmaker.

There should be a promotion/relegation playoffs between the second division in north america like the (CPL or USL) and the MLS.This would motivate the players and make the league stronger. Il y a des bons joueurs au Canada.

Or maybe we should just not bother with MLS at all. Seriously, do you actually care about Columbus, Philadelphia, or Orlando? Does anybody? I have absolutely zero interest in 90% of the cities in MLS. If TFC, Vancouver, and Montreal want to be relevant, they should just join CPL outright and leave MLS to the Americans.

Insigne and Bernardeschi have to score their numerous chances, especially Insigne in the 6th and 90th minute. What is Luka Gavran doing so far off his line ffs on the first goal? -But tbf, if it wasn’t for him, this scoreline could’ve been a lot worse. Absolutely horrendous defending on the 2nd goal… How did TFC not tie it late with those chances? Absolutely embarrassing and dreadful all around from tfc smdh … playing like u-14s ffs

It'll be TFC and Vancouver in the final. I'd expect a 2 or 3 goal win for Toronto in the return leg. The lower sides can give the MLS sides fits at home and even win, but generally falter away from home in an aggregate series. I'd like to see Forge win, because that's the glory of having these Cup competitions, but usually, it's the MLS sides that reach the finals of these Cup competitions. Same deal with the US Open Cup, and Cup competitions world wide.

Sometimes it’s all about luck. Lots of it in the TFC game for both sides.
