This episode is probably the best I've seen. I went from laughing hard at the attempts of Jonathan to take his assignment to his dying mother, to weeping as mother and son recognized each other!! Thanks for sharing

This episode really hit home for me. I was the one to leave the communist system and came to America right before it changed. My mother stayed behind but I was never lucky enough to see her again She died a year before I was able to go and visit my old country which was free and I wish mt mother made it long enough for me to see her. When my Grandmother was very young my Great Grandmother had to look after her Grand child while my Grandmother went to work in Germany and then a civil war broke out, she was told everyone had been killed so she never seen them again. A few years ago my daughter did some research on the internet about what happened and we found out that the army stayed till everyone was evacuated from the town. So they may have survived This reminded me of this while watching this now

Overall, a good, surprisingly heartwarming episode considering the political subplot. The ending might seem a trifle rushed and simplistic, except that only a few months later Reagan and Gorbachev would achieve a similar breakthrough in Reykjavík.
